Gunplay is the same for Tiny Tina, too, by the way. So it's really what are you looking for story and environment-wise?
Otherwise hey both feel like they're written by a 12 year old who's still in their "lol random" and "gotta meme a lot" stage of humor. The emotional scenes fall flat and I feel nothing but disappointed. The plots are terrible. They completely disrespect the personality of the older characters. I remember how good the Tiny Tina in Dragonkeep dlc was, and how disappointing Tiny Tina's wonderlands was in comparison.
Of the two though, TIny TIna's Wonderlands is worse.
BL2 had endless mission diarrhea and Handsome Jack is one of the weakest villains in the history of villains, you just think he's clever because he talks a lot. Every character is constantly screaming and yelling over each other. Mister Torgue is an abomination of inner ear damage and the reason I skip all the arenas in BL3.
Also, I can't take anyone seriously who dunks on Pre-Sequel, that game is peak Borderlands, the story is extremely dark (you are essentially playing the bad guys) and it has the most interesting sci-fi elements. The hover jet-ski vehicle is ::chef's kiss::
The writing is a satire of the clout-obsessed impulsively selfish selfie-generation. And yes it does grate after a while.
While I agree that it has the weakest writing and humor of all of them (haven't played Wonderland) what they do to the older characters is completely subjective. They are Gearbox's characters, they can do with them as they please. If you don't like Content A, then go play Content B.
The only change I didn't like was Tina, by which I mean she hasn't changed at all, hasn't healed or become some semblance of healthy or balanced; instead of being a quirky deranged teenager with demons she is now just a sad deranged adult with demons. It's making a joke out of mental illness, it was a missed opportunity and clashes with the overall "progressive" tone of the rest of the game.
