I wonder if World Drop rates are different for the DLC Areas? With the current data, it looks more like the base game bosses were hit the hardest with the nerf compared to the DLC bosses. Though with only 3 of the main game bosses and 2 of the DLC bosses listed, it may be a bit early to make that assumption, but it's something I'm going to keep an eye out for.

Adding a quick comment on this:
before the update, Psycoreaver was dropping only 2 L for me: a room decoration and COV Heavy. Same applied to the chests: 1-2 L guns from there.

Yea, speaking of psycho reaver and the effort it takes to kill him (or if you can kill him fast, then you got good gear, so it still took you effort in that regard) the amount of loot that he drops is a pure joke. Even before the drop rate nerf it was crap. Why is dlc1 last boss set to always drop at least 1 legendary and this one, that is harder to kill, isn't? And let's not even bother talking about evil lilith lmao.

Some decisions in this game make no sense.

They've only adjusted the world drops but the dedicated drop rate is unaltered. You'll see less legendaries overal as world drops are rarer but dedicated drops will still drop normally.
I still get 2 legendaries per boss most of the time. Sometimes I get none and sometimes I get 5 in a single run.

The droprates are similar to what they were in Borderlands 2 now and this is actually how I prefer it. The previous droprates devalued legendaries as they dropped way too often.

My only complaint with the recent update is the high eridium cost for rerolling annoints. If they lowered it then that would save me a lot of time. Eridium farming is a bit boring.

I'll chime in with a test of my own that I did on Troy Calypso. This was on mayhem 11.

1. Occultist/Lyuda
2. Vosk's deathgrip/Occultist/Bear Trooper
3. Nothing
4. 2x Occultist
5. 2x Occultist/Backham/Cutsman
6. Occultist/Vosk's deathgrip
7. Nothing
8. Nothing
9. Occultist/Scourge/Techspert
10. Nothing
11. 2x Occultist/Ripper/ Vosk's deathgrip
12. Occultist/Woodblocker.

As you can see he tends to drop his dedicated drops relatively often and world drops are much less common. This test only consists of 12 runs but it illustrates exactly what the patch entailed. Less world drops but the same amount of dedicated drops.
I could do further testing but I'm expecting these results to remain the same.

When people compare the drops to bl2 do the forget that in that game most quality of gear is usable in TVH and UTVH. On mayhem 10 most gear below legendary is worthless. This change is only good if they balance other quality guns.

To that point, didn't legendary weapons in Borderlands 2 only drop from Uncommon Enemies and Bosses? I don't remember Borderlands 2 ever having a World Drop like Borderlands 1, The Pre-Sequel and 3. Unless it was an absurdly low drop rate.

They were low or somewhat reserved for chuppies. That said you could get by with most gear not strictly legendaries. Which in Bl3 on max mayhem is designed for. Heck there are weapons just used for melee builds to increase melee damage not for shooting.

how many times did they kill psycho reaver?

do you think the average would remain at zero after 20 kills?

that's the data i want, not just once or a few times

i don't care what conclusion people reach, so long as they base it on good data that can be reproduced over and over

maybe you could gather this data for us, it would be thoroughly appreciated
What does the amount of time matter? Obviously you’ll get different stuff each round. That’s not the point, how is it rewarding for those on mayhem 10 with luck to get literally nothing for the spongiest boss in the game. Which at that point if you don’t have a meta build you can’t hope to win.

Due to conflicting reports that suggest either legendary drop rates are too low, or inconsequential to matter, multiple boss attempts determine a more accurate probability of legendary gear dropping per boss fight. That's basic grade-school mathematics. And as far as the current results show, certain bosses seem to have better loot rates than others on Mayhem 10, which could explain why people are split on the nerf. Plus having evidence to support a claim makes one look less like just another guy on the internet.

As Lord of War pointed out, Psychoreaver didn't have much to drop before the update nerfed legendary gear, so he wouldn't be the best example. Though the chests you open afterwards could be affected.
