Why do players rate some of the DLC's negatively?
Forgive my ignorance. I've seen some players really rip on the DLC's and some content for Borderlands 3, but I don't entirely understand it.

If you get a Season pass, it seems like it tells you what it has in it. Same w/the texture packs and other extras. But I've seen a lot of folks give the DLC's etc mixed/negative reviews. Some say they don't like paying for the content, but when I think of extra content in WoW or ESO, the way they have it laid out here, seems straight forward or similar to the other games.

If you buy the Deluxe version, or however they call the Special Editions of BDL3, you get the extras it advertised. But then why do people seem angry about the Season passes?

Thank you. :vault: :borderlands2: :claptrap: :lunar2019piginablanket:

None of them will be satisfied until they get BL2-2.0, so they'll whine about everything,
They're willing to act like the character they most despise until they get it - at 2012 prices

no. both passes were sold before people knew what will be in them. 2nd season pass just revealed recently that it indeed contains nothing(-ish) for the second half.

Honestly this whole game was kinda a flop IMO, the end game just isn't fun. I got the game and the first set of DLC a few months after it came out and enjoyed it quite a lot for the first 40ish hours. While the base story is fine the DLC is not. It's simple, for most people getting 5 - 10 hours of extra content just isn't worth the price, combine that with the current end game (Most items are trash and the ones that aren't don't even do that well) and you have a boring and stale game. Some people enjoy this game and more power to them but it seems like the majority of players don't find the prices to be fair. IIRC people disliked the first season pass because the content seemed rushed and worse when compared to BL2? I couldn't care less. I got a fair share of content for the price I payed and don't really care about the second pass. I'm just not going to get it.

its the norm now, companies dont care about the players its only the money they care about these days, its how much they can make and how quick.

While some of this might be true, the real problem imo is that people expect more and more for less (minimum standards has raised basically)

If borderlands 2 had released in 2021 it would get review bombed, it aged really bad, it feels like a walking simulator now and the story is super cringe.

As to why people give negative reviews to DLC, it's because they didn't like some aspect of it. If people pay for something they are entitled to give their feedback on it. Calling those people names because you don't share the same opinion makes you look like a loser.

What a strange question. By that logic, why should anyone rate anything negatively if it's advertised accurately with the contents the product contains? People rate DLCs positively or negatively depending on whether they think said content is enjoyable, is a good addition to the game, and whether it's worth the money to them. This applies to every game, not just Borderlands 3.

I personally like the 1st season pass content from what I've played of it enjoyed the story of them a little more than the actual game story. 2nd season pass just doesn't seem to have much to it and a few things like the skins were given already if you bought a version of the game (Can't remember what). The new skill trees are fun but I'm sure we all would have liked a new character too, the arms race sounds like a small add-on and the cut content (Raid boss, new locations extra story missions) seem a bit small too. The vault cards are interesting though but not exactly sure if they are timed or not. Both passes you should get on sale especially the 2nd.

Lets be honest with the the last two dropped DLCs. They are dull. The Battle Royale was still kinda okayish but not great.
This brand new DLC was super boring - felt like its lost his soul to the previous DLCs.
Lame story, Lame Boss.
Yea we got a new raidboss but thats it. It felt like solo'ing the new raidboss took longer that the whole new DLC Storymissions.

Are you serious - have you even played games before? Raised minimum standards? We are at a point where simple skins for SP-Games that arent F2P are beeing sold at 10 dollars - what are you taklking about? Some SP-Games even sell ingame-currency already ...

I can't think of a time when people expected less than nowadays. People were making fun of things like oblivion horse armor which was way cheaper than most of the skins nowadays - back in the days addons costed way less and mostly had enough content to be a game of their own.

These days companies sell basic skins in non f2p games for 10 Dollars and people deem it normal to only get a few maps in a MP-FPS game. The minimum standards were raised - lol - in reality games overall are getting shorter and shorter - and even basic stuff is beeing sold at sometimes extremely high prices.

People dislike the DLC because the price was rather high yet there isnt that much content - also many people thought a season pass will contain all future content - they didnt expect to have to buy another season pass - that from my point of view contains way less interresting content.

Season pass 1 DLCs: every DLC add a good amount of content (some hours of story quests and side quests on each DLC) before you start doing the end game loop farming

Season pass 2 DLCs: a empty quest that you end up in less than 30 minutes (if there is any in the first one cant even remember, that show how bad was) then is just a dull BR mode and A SINGLE super spongy raid boss.

I know what most of the people on steam forums are pretty dumb, but to say on the forum of BL3 what plot of the BL2 is super cringe is beyond any possible levels of bad taste and stupidity.
Also both BL2 and BL3 have boring AF walking locations so both can be trashed for too much walking.

They need a DLC to fix this mess, just make it Jack's kids are the villains in this game and Jack had a secret relationship with a female Psycho or something. The biggest secret in all of
Pandora. Jack and this female Psycho had a couple of kids. Instantly fixes this terrible story and adds a very interesting backstory.

Well that's the reason why I was asking. Most of the reviews have to do with the company being called greedy, as opposed to if they liked the content or not.

I didn't quite follow the greedy aspect, entirely. I thought if folks didn't like the prices for things, they'd just wait for it to go on sale. But it's pretty consistent w/a lot of the DLC for BL, folks don't like the pricing or the company's choices. For some of the DLC content for BL2, there are negative reviews and I personally really liked the content, but it's not about the content, these reviews, the complaint is about the pricing.
