I've fixed the crashing issues partially by enabling DX11 instead of DX12 for now. The game still crashed once after that which is still more then usual but the majority of the crashes seem to have disappeared for now.
I get better framerates with DX12 though which is unfortunate.
I can't seem to fix the stuttering unfortunately.
I'm on an older driver myself but the new driver did not make any difference so I rolled back again. It seems that the patch is the culprit of all the performance issues.
I've tried reinstalling the game as well and that didn't solve the issue either.
* I have tried with 460.79 driver version but still the same.
* I disable G-SYNC option, nothing is changed.
* I tried 3 different SSD drives, M2 SSD, SATA SSD or portable SSD, nothing is changed.
* I changed detail level as LOW or MEDIUM, nothing is changed
and sometimes I have FATAL ERROR and game is crashing by that error
" Unhandled Exception: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION writing address 0x00000000000000024 "
I have NO issues on other games. I am playing GODFALL, AC: Valhalla and Division 2 and Battlefield 5 on my PC, no issues at all.
TEXTURE STREAMING should return to this game, because game performance is really HORRIBLE. FPS is drop down from 135 to 90, GPU usage is drop down to %99 to %61, %55,%41...
As I said, I have NO issue on any other games with my system. So, DO NOT BLAME my game rig...
My system specs are;
* i5 10600K
* 2x8gb DDR4 3000Mhz ram
* GTX 1660 Ti graphics driver (465.89) >> tried old driver versions multiple times...
* I have 3 types of SSD drives, M2, SATA and portable SSD, tried all of them, still same.
Gearbox, FIX YOUR GAME...
That crash error is the same one that I had. I managed to solve that crash by switching to DX11. I always got this error when I exited to desktop through the game's main menu.
Give DX11 a try if youre currently on DX12 as that is what solved most of my crashes including that particular error.
Your rig is definetly not the culprit. The stuttering seems to have been caused by the latest patch. Borderlands 3 always had stuttering issues but the latest patch seems to have made it significantly worse. I'm not experiencing stutter in my other games either, only in Borderlands 3.
I'm afraid that this stuttering issue can't be solved on our side and it's up to Gearbox to fix it. The game also crashes more often now but switching to DX11 did made a big difference for me and theyre a bit less frequent now.
Thanks for the detailled response!
Unfortunately, Stutter and FPS drop issues are still horrible, even though we got rid of the crash problem by switching to DX11.
Before patch my gamerig is far better on DX12, almost perfect when I was playing, no stutters, no fps drops...
