If there wouldn't have been anointments the droprate would have never been this high.
They had to crank it up because the chance of getting a well rolled weapon with a specific anointment is absurdly low. I had to farm Aurelia for 2 days just to get the shield with the anointment i wanted. And the shield dropped pretty often. Beeing excited for a legendary drop just to see it's trash because of the anointment just sucks.
Unfortunately players perception of Legendary "Rare" loot have been kinda ruined. Yet they have done a step in the right direction.
I'd be glad if there was a level cap increase to "wipe" our current weapons.
The lowered droprates with the new reroll mechanic are a good solution even though reroll price is way to high imo.
Agreed, they need to reduce that.
The problem with increasing the level cap is that the higher you go, the lower the build variety is going to be. Just look at BL2 with it's insane level cap, I bet there's only 1 build per character there.
And this goes against the reasoning of the devs: in plenty of videos they mentioned that they want players to play in numerous ways, with various distinct weapons and builds. Increasing the cap would reduce all of that.
That would just make current legendaries the new purple, I don't really see that as a solution. What's the point of marketing a game for millions of guns when only a handfull will be what we use. The game is a simulation of shifting through a pile of garbage for that one piece worth keeping, you'd just add a new layer of garbage.
Haha, while true, except for melee builds, guns like lightshow, hellshock, monarch, plasma coil and flipper should work regardless of your build.
I would see legenadry drop rates too high as a problem if all of them would be awesome, but they just aren't, even when you got 20 legenadries on the map you'd only consider a handful from that pile since most just wouldn't cut it.
Actually now as I'm typing this I see your point, making the good legendaries as diamond would just reflect the actual state of legendaries as they are atm.
It dropped nothing but greens and whites. That’s the state of the current drop rate. Yesterday i kill a loot tink that did the same thing.
Killing the drop rate on Legendaries( or all loot it seems) is pointless. It only serves to make people feel better about the Legendary collection they already have. It does not inspire you to suddenly drop your entire inventory and go out and grind of a Legendary you don’t have.
So anyone that says the new drop rates are fine are clearly past the point of needing or wanting legendaries.
