All the games have classes and each character has 3 skill trees.
Thanks for the info will have to pass.
If you require a solid story to remain engaged while playing a FPS, look elsewhere. Seriously. You're welcome.
Story/SideQuests BL3 < BL2
Classes/Heros/Builds BL3 > BL2
Overall BL3 is much better than BL2 exept of the Story.
Story - really bad
Characters - really bad
Dialogues - really bad
Funny/laughable moments - none
Price & content in Season pass 1 - ok
Price & content in Season pass 2 - trash tier
BL3 deviates from that angle and focuess on a twin of villains who were "exiled" only to realize their dreams of wanting a similar goal as Jack which is to have power over all. Only that the twins intended in doing so by creating a Cult. Hopefully, that gives you an idea of BL3's story. Playing the main quests alone with make the campaign experience short but side-quests are plentiful to keep you hooked in. Legendary drop rates seem to be higher for specific bosses or sources which makes those legendary weapons not so rewarding/unique. The Maggie as an example drops very frequently on Normal in BL3. Once you go into Mayhem mode, acquiring an item exclusive to a specific Mayhem level, like the Saoson on Mayhem 10 may prove to be as difficult as getting any specific legendary item in BL2.
The gameplay is definitely a strong point when compraing BL3 with BL2. I've recently played DLC3 and 4 and had fun with both. More content is coming soon but I do hope GBX create Headhunter-esque DLCs for more post-campaign content or release another major DLC campaign. Would love it any other way. BL3 only has 4 playable characters and with the Designer's Cut DLC pkg, you can unlock a 4th Skill Tree for each character.
Borderlands 3 was first and foremost an EGS exclusive which is rather unfortunate.
Now for the game itself ; The story is really poorly written, it is filled with straightforward jokes that quite frankly are not funny, they introduced new characters that were nowhere near as interesting as the older ones and the returning characters were all handled really poorly.
Borderlands was always known for it's tongue in cheek style humor but they took it way too far in 3 and all of the jokes are quite childish. I laughed quite often in the other games but I couldn't even muster a chuckle in Borderlands 3.
The story overal was a lot less interesting and the twins were not well written in my opinion. Handsome Jack was one of the best villains in any game so it was hard to surpass that but the twins are not even in the same ballpark in terms of quality.
The gameplay is where Borderlands 3 really shines. If youre in it for the shooting then I can definetly see the game appeal to you as that's truly what it does best. Granted I do want to point out that some mechanics are a bit of a hit and miss such as the mayhem levels and the high legendary droprates. The Diablo style loot system is something I really enjoy and if you like the gameplay loop of those games where you create a build and farm certain items to accomodate that build then you'll love these games.
If you want a well written story then I definetly recommend Borderlands 2 instead. 2 also has better DLC's in my opinion that offer a much greater value for their price. If that's what youre after then I would recommend sticking with 2 instead.
The skilltrees are definetly better then 2 but 3 lacks different characters although it does make up for it somewhat by having 3 different action skills per vault hunter. Borderlands 3 only has 4 vault hunters while Borderlands 2 had 6. The new vault hunters are interesting and fun to play but my favourite character in the series is Krieg who is playable in 2.
Overal gameplay : 3 > 2
Story and side quests : 2 > 3
DLC's : 2 > 3
Endgame content : 2 > 3
If you like coop, BL3 is by FAR better than 1 and 2, all levels can play together with your own loot and level enemies...gunplay is better as well, there were so many good upgrades over 2 but some still get hung up on story like it was a factor...its not...and BL3 is actually a good mirror of today's society and i think they did a ok job with it.
BL3 on sale even better which they do have a lot of sales these days...vehicles much better too....
Since You're such a loser, attention trolling, naysayer, & have something negative to say about EVERY borderlands game, on every post, except the troll posts You put praising the horrible pre-sequel game that literally everyone else on Earth hates, why don't You STOP playing them, & posting here, and go BACK to 4 channel, or get 10 twitter profiles, so You can flood people's posts with Your' pathetic crys for attention?!?
If You play video games to egotrip, like EVERY speed runner, or end game player does, especially the ones who play duels, or PvsP modes, knowing they have a better (cheaper ringer) build, maxed stats, the best gear, etc. then You should invest Your' time into a game like Fortnite, Destiny-2, or any of the other ridiculous games that let losers pay-to-win, & bully lowbies.
If You play video games for a "story", then You're a fool, & should watch Anime, movies, or TV shows instead, as (contrary to what loser fanboys say) every story in every video game is pretty awful, childish, sexist, racist, speciesist, prejudice, war mongering, or in some other way over;y stereotyped to the point that nobody with an I.Q. over room temperature could possibly enjoy it without controlled substances.
If You play to enjoy Co-Op, & are tired of BL2, (until they ever FIX this game's horrible netcode) then You should either try BL1, or Destiny-2 (which has great cross platform between PS-4, & P.C., but since Bill Gates is a jerk, none for X-box).
The core is pretty much the same.
Story and characters are much better in BL2, gunplay and balancing is better in BL3.
Mapdesign is in both mediocre.
Coop mechanics are awesome in both.
For me:
BL Pre-Sequel > BL 2 > BL 3 > BL 1
