He literally did hundreds of tests and posted all the statistical data there. Tons of other testings shows that theres no drop difference between Mayhem 10 and 11.
Yes, the screen says that, but it is wrong. Some sources claimed that the lower drop was only for world drops, but thats also not the case.
Personally, even if they cut they actually rewards by 90% I'd still play on MH 11 because I simply can't be arsed to have a bunch of insta-death skulls moving towards me every time I kill an enemy + having my character constantly screaming because a puddle of fire formed underneath her because I stopped moving like a maniac for 0.045 seconds + having random enemies being imune to some elemental damage.
But since its not the case, it is 100% worth it
people are losing their minds over BL3...
But Borderlands 3 is the one I don't like very much. I don't know. I don't feel like playing it like the others. It's nice and all, but still... To be honest I enjoyed The Pre Sequel more.
GOOD
- Gunplay. The best in the series.
- Weapons. A lot of new weapons along with remastered old ones.
- Movements. Running, sliding, jumping, parkour, punching barrels.
- New element: radiation. I love the concept.
- Enemies. A lot of them. Sometimes I can't even understand what's going on in my screen.
- You can active Seasonal Events any time since the last update.
- The 4 main DLCs are awesome. The concept, the design, the atmosphere, the sound, the enemies, the bosses, the weapons.
- Mayhem mode. I prefer it than the old normal-true-ultimate vault hunter mode system.
- New action skills system and augments.
- New Tediore reloading. Guns with small legs because yes.
- Bandit/Scav weapons. Finally we can use anything apart from their rocket launchers.
BAD
- Story. And the problem is not Ava. The problem is the deus ex-machina writing. They just killed everything BL 2 and TPS created and came up with solutions straight from their a***es. I was liking the story until the events with Sir Hammerlock and his sister. After that, especially after that event with Patricia, I started hating this storytelling. The ending is also a piece of garbage, in my opinion. I enjoyed all the DLCs stories (especially the first DLC), but couldn't enjoy the main game story.
- Main characters. I think they lack in personality. FL4-K is Zer0 but with no haikus, Zane is annoying and Amara is meh. Moze reminds me of Roland, but also meh.
- Season Pass 2. I don't endorse this kind of thing, but since I'm a b**** about everything Borderlands I bought it. Everything apart from the 4th skill tree is a piece of trash. Actually it's the only reason to buy it.
- Legendary weapons everywhere. You just don't feel that they are legendary anymore. One of the main reasons why BL 2 was such an awesome game was legendary farming. I guess generation Z don't like spending 30 minutes trying to get a Fastball or Unkempt Harold. And the worst thing is that this game has a lot of awesome non-legendary weapons. But why would you use it, since legendaries are so much superior? I feel that I enjoyed weapons better in BL 2.
- Maliwan. I used to love them. Now I just don't like these weapons anymore.
- Enemies screams. They're just annoying in this game, especially the female psychos. The only funny line I can remember is that one "you'll remember my name which is..." and dies. BL 2 was really funny, especially when you killed them with fire. "I SMELL DAHLICIOUS!!!!!".
UNACCEPTABLE
- Epic Games exclusivity. Do I really have to say how indecent this is?
- Optimization and bugs. Especially optimization.
The DLCs were the saving grace of this game, the only time I truly felt I was playing a Borderlands game again and not some generic looter shooter with pretty graphics was when I finished DLC 1. That ending was really nice. But even so this game god the lower end of the stick considering BL2 had all those other minor and crazy DLCs like the one Mr. Torgue paid us to kill a giant chicken and then got to hear bedtime stories from his grandmother.
The DLCs were super nice, and while there was a whole lot more room for the devs to try much harder to make a decent main story, I feel like there really was no way for them to make up a story or villain(s) as good or as enjoyable as Jack was in the previous games. If It wasn't gonna be the Twins, we would've gotten another two-bit wannabe villain under some form or another, so in the end I guess it was unavoidable. There really is no living up to the legend Jack is. He was too well-written.
I disagree.
Gearbox already did good villains before and after Handsome Jack.
In BL 1 General Knoxx was awesome. I loved his style. A brillant but tired military, surrounded by idiots, who decided to take control over the operation just to give you a motive to end his life.
The final boss from Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage. I think his name was Piston. Also awesome. Definitely the ultimate coward.
Hector, from Commander Lilith's and the Fight for Sanctuary DLC. Also good.
Colonel Tungsteena Zarpadon, sadly, could have offered much more. She was loyal, fair, proud and fierce. She could've been a great ally if we weren't on opposite sides.
And my favorite villain apart from Handsome Jack: 5h4d0w-TP. What is more awesome than a Clap-Trap? A dark, evil Clap-Trap. I consider ECLIPSE and EOS (his second and third form, respectively) to be the best boss fight in the entire franchise.
Gearbox has (or had) very good writers. They had no excuse. But I believe that they were more focused on the concept of streamers, youtubers and twitch.tv'ers.
When I saw the Tannis event I had the impression that Marvel writers took over Gearbox.
WHY BE A HERO WHEN YOU COULD EAT ONE????
Plus what about all those minor bosses in BL1, BL2, and TPS? Shank, Moxxie's ex-lover, from BL1, Wilhelm from BL2, Piston (like you mentioned), and from TPS -- Deadlift, The Bosun, Red Belly, they are all fun.
Personally, i still think Borderlands 3 is the best on every category, even story because I like how BL3 tried to move on from the older characters and killed off the remaining villain/heros from TPS (namely Baroness). They kept the CLaptrap lore going from TPS, by having you recover pieces from dead claptraps. I liked how a lot of the Eridian lore is expounded upon via the Rune story-teller Nyriad. The Sirens take center stage in BL3, which is smart because I remember wondering in the other games about how powerful and rare the Sirens are (only 6 at a time, or something like that) and how they should have their own game.
Anyway, I could keep going...
