1) check if your steam save files for BL3 are stored in Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/account/remotestorage
2) Check your documents folder for BL3 save games folder, it looks similar to this:
C:\Users\<username>\Documents\my games\Borderlands 3\Saved\SaveGames\<longnumber>
If both are empty, you no longer have your saves. If you have one or both, then there's an issue elsewhere. You also need to make sure steam saves are enabled. It's a per game setting, so if you didn't turn it on for BL3 (typically it is enabled by default) and reinstalled Windows, you'll have neither.
As I had said in my post, once I installed Steam on this new machine and then Borderlands 3, all my old toons were there. I spent a good couple days playing once reinstalled. That was all from Cloud saves. Now with the latest update it's gone?
I do have save in Libraries/Documents/My Games/Borderlands 3/Saved/SavedGames/<long number> but unable to see those saves when I launch game. Guess it's time to see if I can get any help with an actual support ticket.
you can manually copy your saves from your old computer to the new one. check Documents>my games>bl3
I played last night for the first time in 2 months and I've lost more than half my progress. I definitely did NOT restart my game.
I can't even find anywhere to email support for this game. I found this when I was looking. Never even knew this forum was here.
