Unhandled Exception: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION [Crossplay Update: Active Issue]

The latest update (24/06/2021 - Crossplay Update) results in the EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION error when attempting LAN Play

Had 0 issues playing yesterday, no changes made on my device.

Steps to replicate

Start a game (or be in main menu) with LAN Play as the matchmaking option
Have a second player attempt to connect to your game through the LAN browser

Update from Support (26/06/2021)

I'm sorry to hear that you're seeing the "Unhandled Exception" error while playing the game. The first thing I'd like you to do is check out an article we've created on troubleshooting PC issues like this, and make sure you have completed all the steps on the page. You can find the article here[support.2k.com].

If that didn't help, I have some additional troubleshooting that might help you out.

When trying to launch the game, try launching through DirectX11, even if you have used DirectX12 before
Uninstall any mods that may be running
Make sure to have the latest drivers for your graphics card installed
Uninstall all copies of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable that may be on your PC, and install the redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 here[www.microsoft.com]
When launching the game, do not press any key or click anything until after the intro cutscene plays fully

Exactly the same things happened to me too. Everything was fine before the update and now I can't have anyone join my game and I can't join some one else's game for LAN play.

Same for me. Broken LAN crashes every time, never before this update.
I'm having to use online play.

This happens if you don't buy a RTX 3090 ti.
