Every character has a really good mayhem scaling build but you'll probably need to research which builds actually are increased and how abilities actually interact.
The Tiger of Partali, indeed.
No other gear really matters. Your build needs the Rakk Attack augments that give you additional Rakks and an additional charge. You simply hold the shotgun, press the action skill key, and everything dies in one hit.
Enjoy seeing 268M pop up multiple times, or even 1066M on a crit (because that's a thing Fl4k can do~!).
Use a Facepuncher if you want a change of pace.
Fl4k scales very well. A Knife Drain artifact with +melee makes you very hard to kill. I'm not even doing max damage, I'm just using a Knife Drain. A Radiation Stone with +melee would be even more damage, but I don't have an appropriate one of those.
As for Amara, she can't quite deal as much damage as Fl4k using her Phaseflare or Facepuncher, but there are builds of her that deal hundreds of millions of damage. What she gains is *incredible* survivability with Sustainment. She is literally the easiest character to survive hard content with in the game because Sustainment is insanely powerful, and quite possibly the best recovery skill in the game.
Obviously I'm talking about Mayhem 10/11.
Interesting..
My first character to reach lvl72 Mayhem 10 is Zane and I thought he has the best recovery skill. Once I completed story I could already run Mayhem 4 and went to do the scraptrap exp farm until I could run Mayhem 10 and reached 72 that way.
Now my 2nd character is Fl4k, I just completed story mode and having a bloody difficult time compared to Zane and have to turn it down to Mayhem 1. The pet dies so quickly at higher Mayhem. Maybe because I am still low level around 30s?
Once I am done with Fl4k I will probably work on Amara next. That or I give up on Fl4k because his pet keeps dying and I keep dying trying to revive it. I am working towards Red tree + green tree capstone using fade away btw.. Maybe I should spec into Rakk and get a good ASS shield too. But I gotta farm some exp up to 72 M10 first.
Once I get all 3 characters to 72 Mayhem 10 I will then figure out which one I enjoy the most. At the moment I think Zane has an edge since he can run so freaking fast by activating his cannon. It makes getting from point to point easy and his clone with unlimited ammo is just insane.
Amara levels super well and Ties That Bind will help you climb through the various mayhem levels while you farm Light Shows, Free Radicals, Plasma Coils, and the like.
Once you hit Mayhem 10/11, an Amara Facepuncher build will let you solo all content easily. 2 million damage x 28 hits per Facepuncher shot is enough to kill most everything in the game- even enemies during True Guardian Takedown only take one hit when you match your action skill element, lol.
Fl4k has more build variety than Amara at max level, but Amara runs away with damage while leveling with only one capstone, and Ties That Bind is always strong.
Borderlands 3 is pretty solid for not having any bad characters. Amara is probably the weakest, and Moze is broken, but they're all still able to solo the hardest content with a little gear investment (there's nothing absurdly hard like trying to play melee Krieg in OP8+ in this game).
Yeah I guess Moze is the most powerful followed by Zane 2nd and probably Fl4k 3rd and Amara last.
Btw I tried that Rakk build for Fl4k and while it is definitely strong, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ my finger got tired spamming the action skill button non stop!!
Even Zane who is pretty reliant on his clone swapping and shoulder cannon doesn't require me to spam the F button so much.
I don't think I like the Rakk build playstyle much lol or maybe I'm playing it wrong since my build isn't done yet and I am only around lvl30s.
There's also plenty of damage modifiers to play with/speed boost keeps things entertaining
Rad damage+'orbs that spawn on enemy kill' can also 1HKO local enemies..who die, spawn another orb, repeat.
As a benchmark: Was able to push Hellwalker to 25M+ per Crit with the Rad damage anointment.
