With Axton and Salvador playing a role in Arms Race...
...this leaves Athena as the only past Vault Hunter unaccounted for in Borderlands 3. Guess that Eridian Watcher was WAY off...

In all seriousness it's a shame he didn't make any posthumous appearances in the game, such as via ECHO log.

He techinically did. He has a statue in Roland's Rest

Roland can't show up Handsome jack killied him in BL 2.

They should've put Handsome Jack mimicking Roland in BL2 somewhere in the game

He's dead how would he come back? Salvador and Axton are actually alive nice reach though. As for OP the writers of BL3 couldn't be bothered to make a decent plot if they tried.
