Is there a mod to increase the game difficulty?
Hey. Like in the title. I'm looking for a Borderlands 3 mod that increases the difficulty in some way. Be it lower damage output or tankier enemies. Or maybe faster enemy movement.

Is there anything like that on NexusMods, or not really?

Would appreciate any mod suggestions.

Yes, look for level 1 TVHM saves. You can start the game, set the Mayhem mode to 7 & not even rescue Claptrap in the first map. :steamsalty: :)

Seriously, all my new play throughs start with these saves, way more fun & challenging.

Wouldn't lvl 1 TVHM save ruin certain achivements? (read: unlock them immiedately on start up)

if you care about achievements then you don't want to mod or use others saves, mods will disable achievements in many games now days anyway

But is it the case for Borderlands 3? I know of few games that will disable achivements if modded or limit the unlocks, but I never heard this to be the case with Borderlands 1 or 2 Steam achivements.

Also how should I go about getting lvl 1 saves? Will those suffice for the recent version of the game? (https://www.nexusmods.com/borderlands3/mods/100?tab=posts)

Or is there some save file editor for BL3?

@edit

I also found this (https://www.nexusmods.com/borderlands3/mods/149). I guess it looks to be more recent mod and more suiting for my case?

Yeah, that last link, even though mis-titled might be the ones I use. As already mentioned; if you’re modding you shouldn’t be concerned with achievements, even though I can’t imagine these saves (allowing TVHM while in NVHM) would have any impact.

You’re still playing through NVHM with an un-modded game Exe. You can just read Eridian writing & collect Eridium right from the start. Plus getting anointed & more legendary gear (for me) makes the game much more enjoyable.

Since Mayhem 2.0 (change MM with Echo device), those 4 different save files aren’t required. Just grab one & try it.

PS when you get your first anointed enemy at level 4 while rescuing Vaughn, I’d remind you that you did want to make the game more difficult.

PPS the level 4 Loot tinks make up for it.... kind of

Look up FLiNG Trainer on Nexus mods, with this ingame tool youre able to set damage to and from enemies, alter xp and plenty of other fun things to make the game just as challenging as you desire.

Oh man, I think that's exactly what I was looking for. Didn't expect a "Trainer" to give options to modify the enemy's damage or health. Will gve it a shot! Thank you!

I checked the trainer and I haven't found the option to increase enemy health. Unless I am missing it somehow. There are options to increase gun damage or damage received, but none of those are what I'm looking for :(

Well, damn.

So those TVHM level 1 saves didn’t work out? Too bad since MM1 is 200% increase in enemy health, armor & shields and MM2 is 400%, etc.

They did work out, but I don't think I want to deal with Mayhem 1 modifier entire playthrough - all of them are changing core gameplay in some way or are penalizing you. If there was a Mayhem 1 increase in health/armour but no modifiers active I would definitely use TVHM saves. Or if there was a modifier that changes very little like for example "Enemies have 30% increased accuracy" or something like that which isn't changing core gameplay and isn't noticeable. In other words, I don't want to spend entire playthrough with enemies having big heads.

Also another smaller thing that I disliked it that you get increased XP early on. I know that enemies scale to your lvl anyway, but you would hit max lvl sooner and it makes me feel weird. I think I have hit lvl 4 before even leaving Covenant Pass. I just don't want such increased progression.

@EFG.Wenex ヽ(´ー`)ノ - LOL - just pick "Floor is Lava" and you'll be back in the punishment zone!

Joking aside.... I wish you luck on your quest to find your "Goldilocks" BL3 mod ;)
