Snipers Are Trash
They don't do much damage, it seems. I'm using Moze but I should be able to use any weapon effectively.

I really love sniper rifles in this game. In previous BL games I found them a little... "lacking"? But in BL 3 they did a pretty good job with the weapons and hitboxes. I finished the game with FL4K, mostly using Jakobs snipers, one-hitting most enemies. Ricochet is OP as hell. :krskull:

its not snipers being bad its the enemies twirling around getting into cover and that

sandhawks pretty good tho

sandhawk
amd
there are some realy good ones
but i do agree with Agarillobob: many enemies are just a hassle to be hit with snipers.

I’m with @Snowy - jump back into BL2 if you’ve forgotten what it’s like to one shot most normal enemies with a frickin blue maliwan or jakobs rifle. I’d hazard a guess that even with a 200% buff most BL3 snipers would still feel meh

Those few legendary exceptions are so OP compared to all other BL3 snipers they might as well be scoped launchers.

If all else fails, go back to Demoskaggon as you level up and grab a Monocle from time to time. That brings back the feeling of sniping with a Jakobs in BL2, thanks to the improved zoom and greatly increased critical hit damage when aiming down the sights.

Zane players should also considering giving a Storm or Firestorm sniper to the Digiclone. It's hilarious to see all the AoE damage. Against enemies like the boss of the Challenge of Supremacy it can actually crack the immune phase and kill it before the second phase kicks off.

For Moze though, with all of her ammo regen/replenishment skills you can 'snipe' with Vladof rocket launchers and enjoy greatly increased ammo pools. If you've unlocked Overkill you can get up to 5x bonus damage for each shot.

The Monocle isn't good at all, though.

I most times go sniping the battle arenas and if anything left alive switch to anther gun and run in.

Not sure why people complain about sniping, it always works fine for me.

I think you'll find that many people treat sniper rifles like other guns and use them as such. Granted this game is not as friendly towards snipers as previous ones, but it's still possible to use them for a few well-placed far away shots before switching guns and going in with something more appropriate.

If I get bored, I'll sometimes find a high spot in a desert area and pop the heads off skags with a sniper rifle. Drives them crazy because they can't reach me, and I just wait for them to stand still and growl, followed by *bang* *splut*. Much fun.

Otherwise, for normal use, sniper rifles are like bringing a $600 bottle of wine to a frat party.
have you tried sandhawk ? oh and also moze isnt ideal for snipers it would be fl4k

Moze does fine with snipers in the base game (it's what I used for 99% of it), but the snipers are pretty useless with Moze once you get into the mayhem levels. On M10, I can put about 40 Lyuda shots into a mob's head and their health bar barely even moves. Meanwhile, the bear can 1shot half the mobs on M10 in the new takedown, sometimes doing 50-100 million each shot. Get yourself a Ruby's Wrath and use it to get a Globetrotter. Moze is pretty much stuck relying on splash damage on M10. Even the OPQ feels pretty useless compared to them. Just be careful with the Globetrotter. The discs bounce off of everything and sometimes come back at you. 1 bounce somewhere within about 10ft of me is all it takes to 1shot myself (even with 150k shield).

If you ask, someone might give you their old Yellowcake. A 40k x2 Yellowcake is still the second best gun in the game for Moze and it's way more user-friendly than the Globetrotter. You could solo the new takedown on M10 with any version of the Yellowcake.

I don't use Splash Dmg Skills (zero XP spent), nor do I use RPGs. No problems on M10.

Primary weps: Flipper, Hellshock, Beacon (rad/corrosive), Lob (cryo/corrosive), S.Hawk, OPQ

I main flak, in the little time i've played with flak my max hit with my sniper build has been 873 million damage, have a picture and clip to accomodate it too. albeit the 873m damage hit was made by an explosion from the overkill damage from the sniper shot.

But in general once i get my first kill with monocle i can start one-hitting most enemies sometimes badasses on Mayhem 10.

yea even tho I do use an IB build I can deal with enemies using flipper, lob, Monarch and sandhawk with no problem
If I would go back to deathless skilling theres so many weapon DMG buff skills its gonna be really strong, not as strong and as surviving as IB currently but a very reasonable skilling
