Reducing Particle Effects?

Compared to previous games in this series, I've found the particle effects to be very distracting and they overpower everything else on screen. Using my action ability or a grenade lights up my entire screen like 4th of July and I can't even tell what's even happening. I swear I spend half my time playing this game shooting blind. Changing all the graphics settings to low doesn't even make a difference.

Is it possible to edit the game files to reduce the amount of particle effects? I'm not super experienced in doing that but at this point I'll give it a shot because man they are really over the top in this game.

If you need perfect conditions to be successful, perhaps FPSes are not your forte?

Pro-tip: you've a minimap, and reticle is red while over a target; focus on reticle, not the FX.

No, the fireworks spam is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. The game is obviously designed around the fireworks spam, so needing to be precise is irrelevant to being "successful." Bl3 was the easiest game of the four. Give me Bl1 endgame as a Mordecai main, where you have to be quick and precise, and use the map strategically, because the bandits will melt you in a second.

One need not use but minimap but its there just in case. What is your problem, are you new to the FPS genre or do you simply blame every game for your inability to play it? Based on your numerous complaints, FPSes of the '90s & early '00s would've eaten you alive. Instead of whining about every little thing, spend that energy honing your obvious lack of skills.

Where is the contradiction? My screenshot comment is sarcasm, did you notice my crit-kill amidst the onscreen chaos? You are like a marginal NFL QB who needs everything around them to be PERFECT in order to be functional, but in chaos is reduced to scrub status.
