Coop Mode doesn't work. Network Error

Me and a friend just bought borderlands 3 and we wanted to play with each other. Theres always an error called network connecting problem. Can't we play with Wifi? How does it work? Can someone help us please. Thanks!

Yeah, there are multiple threads on this. Gearbox broke it.

My buddies and I can only get connected using crossplay (Epic to Steam or vice versa). Epic to Epic and Steam to Steam seems to be jacked.

We tried everything. Restarted everything. Sent invites through the game, and through steam. Tried joining the shift profile instead of the steam one. Verified our game files. We tested another steam game to make sure it wasn’t steam, it wasn’t. So that’s when I decided to move back to epic and see. Worked on the first try. But get this; my buddy was still on steam, so cross play worked. 🙄

This is BS. We bought the game to play Co-Op... It was fine until today, Steam-Steam... And now we ways timeout. Is there a fix?

i dont no why some people are having issues with the co op not being able to connect. i do get disconnections sometimes but its after long playtimes like 4 hours + ...have you tried port forwarding? that might be your issue.

I have the same problem and I've tried all solutions currently discussed online. Nothing works. It's not a port forwarding issue. It's not SHiFT servers. It's Steam, or same-platform play. It worked fine for many weeks prior, but then it just stopped one day. I or my friend didn't change anything. BL 2 still works co-op, so it's just this game by itself.

Set up a VPN between you and your friend and play LAN-party.

Yeah, I was close to pulling the trigger on two deluxe editions but I think I'll check back in on this game during the winter sale to see if they get this co-op situation worked out and the drm removed.

I've got a solution for it. You have to change your internet connection to your smartphone Hotspot while you're in the game Menu of Borderlands 3. After you did that, join your friends party and change it back to your ''local internet''. If you will get kicked out of the party you have to rejoin and it will work. --> We've found a way to pass and it works! Trust me. Have fun and good luck. If you have questions write me.

I’m here in dec of 24 and nothing has changed. Still having trouble connecting with friends

Yep, I have one friend that either gets constant networks errors when trying to join and causes everyone else to have errors when joining them. Happens only in this game. If he gets through then its a lag fest. unplayable and i suspect its because of the deal with epic.
