Typhon Dead Drop lost?

So i just started and opened my first Typhon Dead Drop on Pandora Ascension Bluff. I opened it and did not even check the loot properly, so I dont even know if it is worth the worry. After I opened it, I verified that I had a full inventory, so I went to the nearby vending machine and sold all my stuff. I came back (as I already have done succesfully with loot left on the ground) to pick it up and it was not there.

My question is: the loot is lost forever? I read that there is a lost loot box apparently on Pandora III that saves every non-picked up blue (and above) loot, but I did not get to that part yet. And when I get there I think this loot will be irrelevant :\

Is there a way to get it back on the beggining of the game? Am I missing something?

I think this is some kind of warning to others too, since I did not find a similar topic on the internet.

You need to make sure the loot machine is empty and your game is set to "cooperation" or else the machine wont store items.

Also loot you drop on the ground won't go to it, only items in chests or fell from enemies.

Once you open a dead drops, they never respawning loot again for that vault hunter.

So you might want to save them for a second play through when you are of higher level for better loot.

Otherwise dead drop loot is not that special if you miss out on it.

Also you should upgrade it from 2 slots, to make sure you dont miss out on an item you missed or drop out of bound.

Lost loot machine.. First one is in the Ship so wont be accesible till you leave Pandora. However you have to try and pick it up or have it awarded to you with a full inventory for it to be there.

I left the loot inside the deads drop, it was not on the ground. I think there is still a possibility I can get them in the lost loot. But I'm not hopeful.

Well, I'm back. My first deads drop loot that I did not claim (only opened it) was indeed safe in my lost loot at Sanctuary. So it was not all lost forever. The blue items and above were recovered.
