Time-Sensitive Crystal Element of New Takedown is Broken if Solo
I can actually survive the seeming endless onslaught going solo on the new takedown (on true Takedown mode).

What is killing me is that I have limited time to dance around 3 or 4 crystals in different locations while swarmed with what is realistically 50+ enemies at a time. I simply can't kill fast enough, and I put down dozens of enemies but die because of some timer that is in the background and that I do not get put on the screen,

This takedown is getting a lot of complaining from some, and I'll be honest: it's not a ton of fun to begin with given that there are so many bullet sponges. But if I go solo, I can't be in three places at once.

Especially broken is the crystal charge where there are three crystals, one on a central platform and two on the flanks, and each one gets 50 enemies spawned down around it. The timer there is awful if solo because I can't be on each crystal at once... and I have an immense number of enemies to wade through and have to slowly spring-board across to each crystal.

TL;DR - Remove the timer element to this takedown and you remove a lot of complaints from solo players, I think. Too many enemies are bullet sponges in this to have a timer on top of everything else when solo. This was clearly designed for co-op, which is fine, but some elements that are great in co-op are just un-fun or barely do-able going solo. And the fact that I have a timer and really need to be on all three crystals at once to succeed means that if I only solo play, I'm doomed.

Wow is that why I lost? I was in a firefight in the 3 crystal area and suddenly teleported to the entrance again. If this is true, that's so stupid. I also played solo for reference.

Yes, that's what happened.

The mission text says about 'before detonation', but there's no actual timer, nor does 'before detonation' actually mean anything to you the first time in... I just assumed it was flavor text until I realized what was going on and that there's a background timer.

And yes, it's a huge issue if solo. Hence why I think in solo it should be removed, or much more time given.

And whether it's in solo or even in MP, can we at least get a timer on-screen, given that almost no other missions are time sensitive?

Yes its a problem in Mayhem 10 for sure, I don't have anything quick enough to take out the enemies in the limited time of charging the crystals, its seriously flawed

everything else in game I can do fine on M10 so its not my character setup

That explains why I "died" for no reason, what a stupid mechanic. Whoever thought playing capture the flag with infinite spawning sponge AI should get fired.

and that's why they outsourced DLC in BL2 xD

they can't even get their main game right! how the hell are they going to create decently balanced aditional content?

It's just an incredible oversight that they finally do a time-sensitive objective, but don't have it scale to how many people are in game. Literally almost every other element of the game scales to how many players are present... how they didn't think about doing that with a timed objective is beyond me.

True Takedown mode is not designed for solo play, you know that right? This takedown does suck though imo, not because its too hard, but the gimmick constant jumping and being unbalanced.

Takedowns should've been auto-scaling depending on number of players right from the beginning instead of making them 4-player only at the start, and then putting in workaround band-aids as additional buttons and "True" modes. It's already confusing for people with Normal/TVHM (and/or Mayhem on top), and now there's a "True" mode for this takedown as well.

They had all the time to learn all that ever since BL1, where there are a couple of instances when playing solo is very detrimental, like Sledge or even Mad Mel fight, when every aggro is on the player. BL2 and TPS had those moments as well.

BL3 is a mess.

It’s not a mess...that’s what “True” means...every takedown has been True from the beginning they only added scaling after the whining.

Just so you know if you don’t finish one play through on TVHM, Maliwan isn’t available..have to be at least level 50 and one TVHM finish.

This takedown isn’t perfect for sure but true mode remains the same....must be a jumping fool in this one,,that’s a gimmick

That's not correct, I didn't do TVHM and did Maliwan takedown regardless, unless it's a new thing.

That's not correct, I didn't do TVHM and did Maliwan takedown regardless, unless it's a new thing.

You are right..I wasn’t clear, whatever story mode you play in has to be finished and level 50...I went straight to TVHM and finished before doing Maliwan at M4 TVHM.

On a side note, why would someone stay in normal mode to level 50? I couldn’t wait to get to TVHM at around level 32ish and finish next story on M4 to get much better drop, Maliwan became a real farming spot then

There's really no reason to do TVHM unless you want quest specific drops to scale, the rest scales with you once you're at a certain point, doing DLCs is on level too. And since the game gives you so much XP and it's so easy to level up you get to level cap before trying/doing all there is which is kinda eh compared to previous titles.

Of course that’s the reason the drops are ten times better on TVHM M4 than normal mode, when looking to build god like rolls that’s what’s it about, I’ve never played with anyone that just stayed on normal mode when running a raid, they wouldn’t last long, but to each their own, everyone enjoys the game in foddering ways.

I’ll say one thing it did help me I was able to go from M4 to M10 and work on my buils without to much trouble till I got it where I wanted it.

when they update the new takedown I’ll try it again, dlc is soon so there’s that
