New Takedown - a major flop

Ok, if you enjoy this gauntlet, fine - go right ahead and blast through!

BUT!

The whole thing very much looks like a Veins of Helios Reprise. Low gravity, jumping puzzles and tons of idiocy. I really hope this addition was not designed by the crew that spewed the Holodome. Remember that? The similarities are striking...

First off, the Mayhem is unbalanced af. Take that and couple it with constant platform jumping and nearly zero possibility for second wind. How this is necessary or desirable after the colossal fail of the Pre-Sequel I know not. Do you?

At the very first Boss - Anathema the Relentless - the ♥♥♥♥ starts to flow in violent surges. The boss scheme is the following: it creates a charging nova bubble that blasts after a few secs, leading to instant death unless you jump over to another platform. Tricky, interesting, exciting. However, there's a double boss - Anathema's Shadow - that replicates the pattern on a another random platform so that you gotta be quick and jump on the safe vacant platform to survive the blasts. By the time you reach its shield phase, it becomes nearly impossible to predict the pattern provided you're slaying hordes of flying/jumping/rushing Eridians along the way. At the very end I was rushing towards the safe platform (Snowdrift equipped) but the blast caught me in mid-air and I fell into the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ water. Game over.

Tricky? Interesting? Exciting?

Congratz, Gearbox - you really went over your heads with this one! It so much resembles the imbecile scheme of Veins of Helios/Holodome - where you drop down miles away, not being able to even spot an enemy let alone getting second wind - that I shudder at the very thought of this uncanny (and unholy) kinship.

There's more empty space than ground to thread on (or rather float over). Seriously, think about it... When done, take this low-grav, jump-pad, blasted and broken map (it's literally shattered to pieces), overall, this ridiculous lump of fecal substance, and shove it back where it came from.

I know this is all a rant - but, oh boy, is it well-deserved!

but i guess thats what "modern entitlement" means.

keep some of the rage as the next dlc will be most likely pretty boring, then you have something to complain about since that costs money.

Just because ♥♥♥♥ is free doesn't mean it's not ♥♥♥♥. I'll ♥♥♥♥ on your plate, you're not allowed to complain and not eat it otherwise you're "entitled."

Well, I have to agree with the others that your comment is extremely dumb. As if the quality of the game depends on what's free and what's not.

♥♥♥♥ is ♥♥♥♥ however you look at it and for players that cherish this game series such moments are really sad.

Also, I'm judging the game not just because I have an opinion, but because I have experience with its previous iterations, hence I'm well aware what works good and what doesn't.

oh my god is the borderlands community full of kids or were you all in special needs class? sure you can have your opinion on the content. but if the content doesnt appeal to you then you have to shut up its free, nobody forces you to play it.

as for the bullet sponges, that stuff is 100% getting fixed, if you dont like the area then you havent lost anything.

They did not have to add so much annecessary mobbing though.

Like 3-crystall battle and 1st boss battle (did not have time to proceed after the 1st boss defeat so far) are pretty good.

But 1st area, area right after and floating plantfomrs area (partially) all have tons of annoying unncessay mobbing that one can-not skip even after clearing them once already.

I don't know what you mean by that. BL2 was never mindless oneshotting and had perfect mechanics - it didn't have ridiculously OP weapons like in BL3 where you have tons of useless legendaries one the one hand, and a bunch among them that so overpowered (irrespective of build) it renders the game useless. That's it until a patch comes out that ruins the scale/balance and even OP weapons become trash.

One life gauntlet was first introduced with the Digistruct Peak - it was tough but if you had a good build you could make it to the boss. Since then the gauntlets suck - just look at the Holodome and compare it to the present one. No real differences.

There's nothing wrong with hard - only it has to work right. Just look at current threads about Mayhem mode and it will become sufficiently clear what I mean.

I don't know what you mean by that. I already completed it with moze a couple of times without much hassle at m10...just learn the patterns and everyone will be fine.It takes me 30+ mins and i had a lot of fun,if i oneshotting everything like before is super boring to say the least same as bl2 op 10...

The boss pattern is not the major issue.

Guess what is - platforms. Just wow....

They turned BL into a third-rate dumbass version of Super Mario/Serious Sam. I miss a platform and I end up half way back. GB is officially mocking the whole community with this ♥♥♥♥.

First takedown as cool as you fail by getting killed, i.e. having a bad build or skills. But here you fail cuz... you missed a long-jump platform. ROFLMAO

And it's not because one is bad at platforming but because the platforms are invisible half the time - they blink in and out of existence.

At least put the save station before the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ platforms, you colossal turds. Who needs that in a looter-shooter anyway?

Free content, or supporting the game with patches and events, even if free, is still a selling point for the game.

Like when I wanna "sell" total warhammer to a mate, usually scared by the amount of paid dlc, I mention the big amounts of free content available for the game, and then that mate, on the fence, convinces to purchase the game.

If he downloads all that free content, and finds out its very bad, bland, unbalanced, or much much worse than the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ paid dlc ever, he has a point to complain
