Game progress lost

My son and I share an account, and his Beastmaster file got corrupted. Unfortunately he was the one who has made it through the whole game, gotten through the DLCs, and unlocked the most things, including buying bank slots.

Now that the file is corrupt not only is all that gone, but apparently my golden keys are all gone, and any skins or cosmetics or whatnot I've already found or bought are gone, except for the ones my toons are wearing. The head/skins aren't in the quick change....despite my characters wearing them.

I have a ticket with 2K but was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

His save file wasn't even on the cloud in the steam back up cloud files you can download.

This happened to me when i started playing, you have two options, start the game all over again and refarm everything or download a save file with a level 57 character, a tip ALWAYS BACKUP YOUR SAVE FILES WITH THIS GAME, you can find them in ( Documents, my games, borderlands 3, Saved, SaveGames, The big number ).

Not the game - YOU yourself need to just copy the files regularly. Sadly Gearbox has royally screwed that up.
Also - steam does have cloudsync - if it is turned for you then you can look up your files (use the search function for how) and see if maybe there is a non-corrupt version saved there.

I had save-problems happen a few times to me, but thankfully the last 2 weeks no more.
None were unrecoverable, just once lost several levels and all equip, and once at lvl 27 it reset my entire story-progress and had to rush through it all again (and not a week after that it happened again, but this time only the progress up to sanctuary was lost)


So in Documents/My games/Boderlands 3/Saved there are your savegames.
make a copy (zip it) like once a day and you will at least never lose everything.
