Fish Slap challenge bugged ?

I have 2/3 kills on Fish Slap with melee kills.
Both melee kills i did was shooting him with the FACE PUNCHER shotgun that deals melee damage from shotgun shells.
However, for the last kill, for the life of me, i CANNOT FINISH IT no matter what i do.
I killed him so far 6 times with Face Puncher again while not a single kill skill is active or any of my both action skills (Using Zane Barrier and Drone).
I even killed him 2 times using just the default Zane melee attack, but he just dies and challenge is not completed...
Anyone else getting the same issue?

Sounds strange, I completed my 3 kills just fine, Only thing I can think of is some other form of dmg got the kill, but you said yo uhad no skills active so that shouldnt have been the case..

Perhaps just fully restart the game and see if that helps any, best of luck with the challenge!

hmm...a game restart might help.
But i was already in a very long session, so i will try this tomorrow.
The first 3 kills were with everything going on, so i thought it might have been a random element did the killing blow, so the last 3-5 kills were with no active action skill or kill skills
just pure melee damage from face puncher and normal melee attacks.
Also, 2 times he just flat out EXPLODED and instantly died from face puncher...like WTF

I'm having the same exact problem. I'm stuck at 2 of 3 on the challenge playing as Moze.

The first two kills I just got him low and started hitting him with melee, no problem. But since then nothing I try works. As far as I can tell I've removed anything that could steal the kill.

If anyone can find a solution, please let me know.

Maybe you need to avoid "Slayer" mayhem modification?
