True Vault Hunter mode pointless?
Is there any reason to play that mode? Better loot, doesn't look like it.

Speaking for myself - it's pointless. Here's why:

In previous Borderlands games, TVHM was used only for earning extra skill points i.e. reaching ~50 lvl, which was impossible in normal difficulty.

Now a player easily gets 57lvl way before the final boss!

Is there better gear in TVHM? Maybe. But I'm not touching it until all DLCs are out, and even within them I'm likely to reach level maximum again.

Is it more challenging? Maybe. But I'm having fun with Mayhem and that's, speaking for myself, enough.

TVHM spawns more badass and anointed enemies = higher chance of better loot. But, who knows, we don't have exact numbers.

Not that much

A bit more challenging because more badasses and annointed, more loot (pointless right now with these loot pinata events...) , max level quest rewards, revisiting the story and quests...
Plus, bragging rights...;D

Main issue for me is that you have to endure the plain supereasy Normal first...with all 4 characters
If only we could start in TVHM...

Agreed. Though this was, IIRC, added in BL2 - perhaps we'll see it at some point, especially considering that progressing past L57 is not presently possible. Additionally, I'd like the option to specifically mute all dialog from the Calypsos after you beat the story.

Nobody seems to have mentioned this, but THVM scales Main&Sidequests to your current level. Including already accepted quests.

Being able to start at lvl30 in THVM is something this game desperately needs, because not everyone wants to go through the story multiple times, but actually play multiple characters.

don't actualy know haha... finished all VH's on normal and just went into TVHM and level'd them to 50 (only leveld zane and amara past 50 as i don't enjoy playing the other 2)
and blazing through M4 with ease...

https://forums.gearboxsoftware.com/t/mayhem-mode-normal-vs-tvhm-any-practical-difference/3407688

seems like dropRATE is increased (for the love of god don't confuse RATE with QUALITY haha) and more badass+anointed spawn (wich in term also increase drops)

i did a few anvil runs with the current event this week (just to see how it works out) and by the time i reached the spot where you meet tina for the first time, my BP was filled with only legendaries... (a crapload of loottinks spawned every time i did that run) now for me i'm at a point where all these runs didn't have any legendaries i found worth keeping... (and selling them is also useless seeing i maxed out SDU's and have max money)

so i think TVM M4 is the best place to farm for new gear and normal mayhem would probably be best for quest rewards (if they scale to your level in mayhem that is otherwise useless)

will probably be added later on ;) they did the same in BL2 (for some reason some development in BL3 went backwards)

After, True Vault Hunter Mode, comes, Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode.

I'd say that running through True Vault Hunter Mode is worth it. Just make sure that you unlock all the map challenges in this mode ;) the Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode is said to be near impossible to beat :BL3Thumbsdown:

You'll get way more fun weapons running the True Vault Hunter Mode :BL3goldbandit:

But, Mayhem tier scales them up too.

Yeah, TVHM in BL2 was way more fun. Evolved enemy variations, better loot etc. because you were around Lv 30 when you finished the game for the first game.

So there is a UVHM? I couldn't find anything on this.

What are you talking about? Every Borderlands game has 3 difficulties.

Probably will be added later with DLC, that's how it was done with Borderlands 2.

For TVHM, i believe there is a slight (not by much) improvement to the chance at anointed items.

Exactly my point ;) Until then you can always activate Mayhem Mod. Better expect what all are already expecting. So finishing True Vault Hunter Mode would make the burden easier once it has been released!

so i dont know what you guys are on about but,

when you finish the main story all enemies and missions scale to your level so no need for tvhm to do that,

what is up with this uvhm stuff, you only needed it in bl2 for enemies and missions to scale to your level so you can reach the level cap by farming. so no need for it this game. The only similiar thing coming is mayhem 2.0 with a bl2 OP level like system for bl3
