I have thought about stricly ignoring the Tinks, but then I thought that:
1. They replace normal spawns
2. They clutter the fights with their annoying noises and just running around
3. If I were to encounter normal non evet Tink spawn, then how would I know that? If I were to ignore all Tinks then I would miss out on normal Tinks spawn in my playthrough.
They are, but not in that volume. I got to the point where you get to Ellie scrapyard quest, and till then I already encountered 15+ Tinks on the way. They are everywhere. I think they are supposed to be very rare spawn.
That was my experience in the game, I’m just a little bit ahead of that section. Too much loot lol.
I decided to wait out the event and start the playthrough from scratch on 16.04. I wasn't aware of the event at the time so I picked a lot of loot and money/eiridum that didn't felt deserved. And also I haven't made it that far, so I'm okay with restarting.
you can kill them and leave their satchels alone...
On topic of the event - it does not seem to work in DLC so you can start new playthrough with DLCs and avoid it all together. Not sure how it affects the story though since I started normally...
And the "bad news" - unless you use only white weapons and do not do any side-quests the game will be easy no matter what. Good green/blue/purple weapons shread through new-game mobs like through paper anyway and if you do side-quests and especially DLC you end up outleveling enemies so much that they die when you look in their general direction.
^having less legendaries to try out will hardly change that.
It's a nice idea but i think their spawn rate and the sheer amount of items in their satchels is slightly over the top.
Because I loot weapons that normally I wouldn't have gotten at this point in normal playthrough. That's why it feels undeserved.
Also these drops make the difficulty to be lower, since those purples and legendaries 1 or 2 shot all the mobs on beginning of the game. What's the fun in there? Maybe it is for you or some other people to squeeze through the game as fast as possible or just enjoy destroying all mobs very quickly, but I personally would prefer slower pace with steady progression.
That solves the annoying sound and clutter part. What about spawn replacement and non event Tinks?
Why is it so important to pick up every item? If it is in your backpack, you aren’t using it.
In my experience, the loot events actually lower the amount of loot you need to sift through. You can overlook WGB and most purples. You see duplicates pretty quickly, making new drops skip able. There are only so many useful legendaries per build and you can only equip so many items at a time.
And since they all drop so frequently, there isn’t any FOMO. You can just find the same items again later.
You can totally fit the event into a shooting focused play style. You don’t have to obsess over inventory management.
The game is already easy if you are using onlyu white guns, you don't need any legendary or even purple loot to beat it.
There are videos around with people finishing the game with only skills or only melee or only FL4K pet.
I do agree that the loot is overboard with the tinks, still it is pretty fun. Note that this was not an event aimed at new players, the game is almost a year old by now.
