Is this your first BL game?
Pretty sure no one will ever ask you for writing input on inclusive/representative characters.
To be fair though, you are well represented in the game already. Just like, on the other side of the Vault Hunter’s crosshairs...

Awkward is the word you're looking for.
Many smart people are awkward as they spend more of time learning new stuff and less time working on social skills.

Bad comparison between Ava and Tannis.
Tannis is generally helpful in the games in which she has appeared.
Or she builds a time travel device to go back in time to stop the events of BL3 happening. It's the very first mission.
(I know which one I would be betting on in that case.)
