Borderlands Science - Alternate solutions helpful?
Do the scientists want alternate solutions?

Hi guys, I have found with borderland science that I can achieve the highscores with multiple solutions. Some of these use extra gold brick, some do not.

Is it helpful to submit wacky alternate solutions that still hit the high score? Particularly those that use extra block. Although not reflected in the score is a solution with minimal use of gold blocks preferable. etc?

Love some guidance from devs/scientists, or your opinions in this regard.

Love and Peace.

We will never know and they are most likely not going to respond to any questions at all, best you can do is either play to get rewards or to beat high scores if you want, it doesn't matter at the end of the day. lol

I think when you beat the high scores, basically you beat their AI.

I think the minimal score is what their AI achieved
The top score is what the best players achieved

Ive been pioneer in some puzzles...aka, no top score...so i guess i was the first to do this puzzle...
But there was still a minimum to reach, which seems to indicate they knew this score is possible

As for the OP, i only submit the most efficient way to reach a given score
Not sure it matters, but well...

The high score isn't always the best solution, it's just the best score any player has gotten on it yet. Yesterday when it first released I played a lot of puzzles with no high score and a 'pioneer' bonus at the end since no one had done them yet.

I felt like it was a waste of time going for a high score, at the end of the day all I get out of it are the skins and even that took a while. lol

Depends on if you do it only for the rewards or for the puzzles and to help science...

Me always go for the highscore
But im not in a urge either...the game wont run away overnight ;D

Their "news update" made me feel like it's a 1 day thing, so I went with it as soon as I could as I'm not playing it as I did last week, just come in occasionally to see what's new.

I can't tell you exactly what the devs are tracking, but these types of algorithms (ie string distance) are generally looking for the smallest number of transactions to make matching values. If you have a high score with blocks remaining, I would suggest submitting it rather than a less efficient (but equal score) solution.

There are alot of these puzzles.. each character has more and more. It is a huge grind if you're just out for the skins and (most likely) temporary boosters.
