Maya stopped following me to the vault...
I'm doing the "Beneath the Meridian" quest and Maya just simply stopped following me, she's just chilling out on a container I mantled shortly after getting out of the DD. Anyone else seen this bug?

Reloading the game usually helps with that kind of problems.

Probably Ava’s fault.

Yeah, I had to restart the game since she wouldn't move up to the last door she needed to open.

Everybody rags on Ava, but she's the most normal person in the game.

Agreed, she the only one who acts appropriate for her age, unlike every adult in the game.

Maya an adult and she can even walk to the end of the map without you holding her hand the whole way there, lol.

Even Ava made it there on her own...

Most can`t look farther then their nose and prefer blame the first thing they see or don`t like.

Also, most players are probably too young to have their own kids while being too old to remember they were just like her at some point.

Yep, she's mid teens. That was a horrible time period for me. LOL I can't imagine how much worse it is for her with all the ♥♥♥♥ in the game happening around her. Hell, just that little stint with her diary made me more sympathetic to her than I already was. Every time I see her I want to giver her a hug.

I'm nearly 40 and I remember what an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I was in my teens. I still am to some extant, but I'm much more mellow these days!:steammocking:

To be honest kids screw up the plot of almost every movie they've been in. They just have to screw up to create a problem, which is annoying. Same thing happens here, she caused a death, and blames it on someone. While appropriate for her age, and completely understandable, it just seems like she's a dramatic plot device. Which she is. And these obvious cheap tropes are annoying as hell.

This problem is what made BL2 story almost as awful as BL3 story. The only redeeming quality of BL2 story was Handsome Jack. His character. That's it. Every damn part of the story is vomit inducingly bad.

EDIT: Also yeah, just quitting to main menu and hitting continue again will 99% solve your problems.

People forget she is an orphan so she's not use to being told by adults to sit on your hands.

Maya told her stories of vault hunting and lets be real; Maya a badass and Ava idolized her enough to think they are invincible.

Her head was in the clouds when Maya lectured her.

The horror Ava got when she found out there are scarier things then incompetent Maliwan guards and bandits that can kill heroes.

Ever spoke to Ava after the incident in her room, you see she completely changed her demeanor.

Also spoiler:
Ava history was purposely never spoken to the player why,
As in Maya knows why Ava was going to be a Siren and only told Lilith (off screen from player) and Lilith left control of Sanctuary 3 to Ava with out any reason to the player.

People wrote that off as bad writing but really but they kept Ava true purpose hidden why she so importent, only Maya and Lilith know the true secret and they are both gone.

It's interesting writing like this that makes this B3 story intresting to see what in B4...

You're forgetting something else, Maya took Ava under her wing basically becoming a mother figure to her. That makes all her actions more understandable.

I've actually seen something like this in real life. Literally, this same type of situation, kid is somewhere they aren't supposed to be, parent figure dies protecting them, kid has a breakdown and shunts blame to others.

Nobody cares about your opinions on Ava or Maya or anyone! I just want help with this bug!!! Find tunnel to vault for the quest beneath the meridian is complete, maya follows me from the last check point to the vault door, then when I enter the next zone she is gone and it tells me to go back into neon arterial. Reloading does nothing, matchmaking does nothing, going back to desktop does nothing. On the regular story and don’t have TvHM yet. Can anyone help instead of diverting from the topic?

Nope, as near as I can tell it's a hard-stop game bug. Most of the time I had to restart the quest by abandoning it first to fix it, and whether or not she actually follows you seems to be random. Your best bet is to just go slow.

maya knows she's about to die embarrassingly and painfully in the infamous lazily designed cutscene. while cursing b3 writers for disbanding b2 hunters from b3 main story. so she doesn't want to go to the vault. thus she embraced the bug.

but seriously, MasterZoen, it seems you've already found the best solution for the bug.
