I mean I personally liked the overall storyline especially with those side-stories coming from Echos and Typhons Logs and what not. But still the game is a total win for me and here is why:
- The gunplay is just awesome; Period.
I mean what made Borderlands games awesome was for sure more or less the story but mainly the lategame with farming badass guns and being more and more invincible and destructive by farming the best gear in-game. So far so good. But this game actually gives you the possibility of making anything viable with the correct skillset and a fitting playstyle.
Speaking of playstyle they finally made use of the environment. There are pipes that can be shot or you can fire with shock pellets into water on the ground and anything standing in said water will be shocked and so on and so forth.
Not to mention the whole bunch of new abilities weapons can have like the new Tediores walking or flying around.
Plus the overall gameplay feels faster to me and way more intense.
The story and the DLCs are discussable. I see why people like it and I see why people hate it. But afterall I would say this game is worth its money. Especially if you are into loot-shooters and / or Borderlands itself.
I've put thousands of hours into BL1, before it was on Steam and used that good 'ol Gamespy. A few hundred into BL2, and looks like I'll be putting just as much into BL3 since enjoy the farming and combat.
*4
Borderlands, Borderland 2, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, Borderlands 3
Even 5 if you count Tales from the Borderlands as well
Really love this game, best Borderlands game so far. Maps are big and beautiful, awesome soundtrack. Boss battles are really good. And the story, whats the word? aaa Tolerable.
I like that Borderlands doesn't take story too seriously. Don't mind if it did have good story either. I think B3 story is better than B1, but B2 story is really hard to beat and we don't want copy paste story from B2.
So when she appeared in this it made me feel a tad nostalgic
Mechanics of combat, vehicles, environment use, even a usable roller coaster are definitely improved.
Ava, personally I don't think her development is as bad as other say. Could it be improved, sure. But perhaps it is a bit jarring to deal with a kid in Borderlands, which understandably will have skewed growth and maturity considering the the world she lives in. Though I keep feeling her head and body don't quite match in size or something, keeps throwing me off.
And then of course there are the people who have issue with certain topics. They tolerated Sir Hammerlock before, but now are upset that he gets story growth and that *gasp* he is not the only one with those preferences in the entire world.
Similar to those that have problem with Hammerlock, some people also have issue with the game starts showing strong women, and even female bandits. While others view them as actually weak because you keep having to step in. Perhaps that could have been balanced better in the story. The point is they need to have something happen so that you (the actual player) can be the "hero" as opposed to an NPC beating the game.
I have absolutely no regrets purchasing this. I still stand that the 6 months on Epic was dishonest. Should have released on Steam and Epic at the same time which would have been honest competition. But my distaste for that, did not stop me from being patient and getting the game when it finally came to Steam.
This, the only thing worth it for me the gameplay and the guns. W/ the main story will be the quest involves Pain and Terror.
DLC so far are decent.
Traveling to Planet hub world is boring. They should have focus expanding Pandora and make vehicle mechanic amazing chasing death machine is freakin awesome. Seriously Pain and Terror quest and story is the only main quest that feels Borderlands.
Opening vaults in the game is so boring. GB should have expand Vault abilities or add some game mechanic making opening Vault in the game is important like add a Vault crafting material to upgrades guns instead of farming it again.
Edit: Memeber how they advertised how awesome the bosses will be and how many of them there are before launch? Well, what a bunch of BS, most interesting boss was Agoniser but the rest is just boring, generic, by the books, 100x seen same old same old. And the last boss was strait up rtarded! How the fork is destroyer still alive (BTPS) and why the fork would he "merge" with Tyreen, what was that supose to accomplish? Bad design and even worse writing.
Also this thread is funny as fork :D Op is asking who regrets buying the game but 99% of the coments are how great the game is lol. Can't you read the topic or what? :D
