DX11 feature level 10.0 is required to run the engine?
Its a basic laptop, but surely Intel Graphics 4000 is enough to AT LEAST be able to start up the game? I've tried updating DirectX aswell as graphics drivers but nothing seems to be working. Can Intel Graphics 4000 not run it at all? That doesn't seem likely to me, the same is happening on CIV 6 which apparently runs on graphics cards worse than the 4000...any suggestions would be great

haha no.

you need DX11 capable video card with at least 4GB of VRAM

but...why? I can run far better looking games on it without DX11. And I mean Civ 6, that game looks like the Simpsons, why must they make DX11 a requirement?

Doesn't matter what YOU think, you need a dx11 GPU. if you want to play modern games get at least an RTX 2060, and ideally a 2070 SUPER.

Lol i'm just asking, it's a genuine question. It doesn't make sense, at all. If you can't answer a question without being a little ♥♥♥♥, piss off.

Your question makes no sense, you don't see how graphically intense this game is, that's YOUR opinion, this game uses very high quality cell shading and the graphics far surpass anything you've ever played in your life with an iGPU like that.

From what I found, intel 4000 graphics supports dx11. So while it might run like crap, you should technically be able to launch it.

Perhaps your game is launching in dx12 mode or something? Search for how to set dx11 mode.

That's the answer I was looking for. Not sure why the other guy is so toxic. That's what I figured from research online, but for some reason it still says I need feature level "10", whatever that means. But I do have DX11 installed, no idea what to do.

what OS are you running?

There is an optional update within windows update that enables level 10.0 in dx11. So you can either look for the specific optional update and try installing it, or even better (because there are some prerequisite updates) make sure you install ALL optional updates so your pc is up to date.

You can technically run it, but would have to edit the ini file to start in DX11 mode. Keep in mind, with an Intel 4000 Intergrated GPU, you would also need at a minimum of 16GB of memory, since it takes it from the RAM pool.

But you wouldn't run it well at default ini.

In the description of this video, is a download to ini tweaks. The video tells you how to use them. I'd watch the video, and probably choose the lowest ini setup they offer to replace default ones, and pray.

Windows 7 64bit. Is there a way to find the newest DirectX drivers or something? Google is a bit hit and miss

Thanks, I'll have a watch and give it a try

Well - your post would make you a lot less retarded if you were not so wrong about pretty much everything.
The game is not very graphically intesne on lower settings, it is not using any sort of cell-shading (the game is using a simple edge-etection to draw a black outline), and an iGPU can run this game just fine.
