Jakobs' gate won't open

After Mr Jakobs told me about Hammerlock in prison, I went down the elevator and summoned a ride, but the gate didn't open. I can't find a switch anywhere. I can't even plough through! The next checkpoint is on the same road as the gate. So, if I have to drop down and go ALLLL the way around, I'm gonna be p-o'd.

OK, this is weird...
I had to zero in on a corner on the left side between a support beam and a sheet of metal.

From personal experience, the gate seemed to only react to certain damage sources. I had to grab a Technical to blow it down, and then go back and grab my Wheel to actually drive.

Shooting, melee, and ramming with vehicles didn't work, just had to lob a Technical explosive at it. Outrunner rocket probly would have also worked. Grenades might work too. It's just weird.

Weird, I’ve always shot it with cannon on the car sometimes even destroying it on the way to Wainwright.
