Where's The Double Jump??!??
Don't get me wrong, it's pretty neat that they added slide mechanics and slam mechanics, but good grief do I ever get ZERO use WHATSOEVER out of slam.

It feels very much like this game could've/should've had a double jump upgrade/ability, especially since ONE jump is not enough height to be able to use the slam. I (and others I've talked to) am just N-O-T NOT going to spend fully 1/2 of any combat time either climbing stuff or looking for climb-ables, just to turn around and jump off of them to do what is, let's face it, peanuts damage compared to guns and skills.

So yeah; where's the double jump? C'maaaaAAAHHNN!

(I guess just making slam use-able off of ONE jump height would be fine too...(shrug))

you aren't meant to use slam during normal combat, only as an initiate, it's too strong otherwise

Hmmm... Welp, maybe it's just a personal hang-up on our end. Or maybe we just haven't found anything with a "!!!GOD-TIER!!!" boost to slam yet. Idunno. As it stands, it just feels like a massive waste of time and DPS to climb random junk just to slam for piddling damage against enemies that run away from your landing spot roughly 1/2 the time.

And now they've put in a way to make slam useful without treating every arena like a jungle gym. Seems the AYEs have it! HUZZAH!

I found some decent ones. But as pointed out before they seem more for initiating than continual reuse.

One forms a shield around the character after a slam. While not god tier, extra damage resistance as you initially jump into combat can be useful.

Another, forms a constant radiation aura around the character, that damages enemies that come close. Good for my beastmaster to keep the small annoyances off while he focuses on the critical hits on badasses.

So yeah not exactly anything god tier persay, but some distinct tactical uses most definitely. Also not exactly much to do with the slam itself, but useful after effects.

I definitely miss it from TPS
Iirc they recently added a guardian rank that makes you able to do slams from a normal jump but it's really far in

with the second DLC they added a new perk in the guardian rank system that alows you to ground slam at the peak of your jump.
