optimizing shaders...every single time
what is this nonsense? everytime i start the game i have to sit here for 5-30 minutes while the game "optimizes the shaders" again. every single time. its bad enough i have to sit through pointless unskippable intro credit videos that dont bother to pre-load anything, so THEN i have to wait AGAIN for it to login to their idiotic server. why does it do this? is there some way to stop this nonsense from happening every single time i open the game?

even worse, is that the game dosent start in HDR10 mode. it starts on the optimizing shaders mode, in standard and then switches to HDR10 when its finished. which as anyone who actually uses HDR10 on windows (like the developers clearly do not) knows, a game going fullscreen and switching from HDR10 and then back to it causes a whole bunch of performance issues due to the OS trying to do BOTH renders at all times. hell, it usually opens a dummy process that drains as much CPU/RAM as it can latch onto, which can only be killed by logging off/restarting your computer.

Switch back to DX11, problem solved...at the cost of somewhat worse performances

You can skip the optimize shader screen if ya delete or rename claptraps loading video

Yea, it does it for me as well. It's due to you using DX12.

Like I said, I go through it as well, but I don't have to wait as long as you do. Maybe 10 seconds or so being it's installed on an 970 EvoPlus.

Put it back to DX11, no more wait times my dude. :)

You can try this, but I don't use it so I'm honestly not sure if it works. Granted, it says 'skip', but I think it just more-so turns the loading/slash screens off. Apparently it still takes time to load, but people have a problem with the volume.

Put this>>> -NoStartupMovies in your launch options.

BL3 > Properties > Set Launch Options > -NoStartupMovies

As for the HDR thing, I have no input cause I don't use it. It's not long, but the 10 years I've been doing PC stuff, and the 3 years since I've built this rig I've never heard of Windows HDR10 mode.
its not "due to dx12" its due to the idiotic choice to force the game to recompile shaders on run. ive got quite a few games that use DX12 and none of them have to go through this nonsense.

relatively new feature that can only be activated if you have an HDR compatible monitor. i believe its only like a year or two old.

Well I don't know man. I first played the game with DX11, it didn't do the optimizing shaders thing. Ever since I put it on DX12, it does it every time I load up. I also have a few other DX12 games that don't do it. I think it might have to do with the cell shader style they use? Like I said though, it's a quick thing for me so I don't really notice it.

Sounds like a broken record I know, but what about verifying files?(just trying to help)

Ah, yea I don't have an HDR monitor, but I know my specs are good. ;p If it has does more vibrant colors, I just change that through Nvidia and through the monitor settings. *shrug*

this is just a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ joke by now. ages after release, they still could not fix this ♥♥♥♥.

which is EXACTLY why you do not "optimize" your game for AMD; no matter how much those guys pay you for it. next time, optimize properly again

should he just make a new one next time, lacking the context he's replying to?

I am not sure why it's a problem to have automatically provided citations for an issue when it seems relevant giving a new update came out that appears to not fix the issue for people.

I myself haven't had the problem, but could piece together that if I did--it would not likely be fixed with the new season pass 2 content patch.

Personally I am hoping they stop messing with how the character skill trees work, but it seems that messing with player expectations will never get old.

yes. he should make a new post instead of crawling several pages through the forums to find a dead old post.

MODS. PLEASE LOCK THIS THREAD TO PREVENT MORE OF THIS.
