Best point to play Handsome Jackpot

The DLC just popped when I got to Promethia, but could that be too early if I want the good stuff?

i think its best to finish the game first and go to the casino at lvl 50.There´s still good stuff waiting for you in the Base game

Right. Just like how the DLCs of the other games started on Lv 32 on Easy so you can start the second playthrough with leveled up weapons.

enemys are skaling with player lvl so you could go there past Lvl10 but best Stuff is about Lvl 50.
there are weapons and stuff in Base game you can only get with mayhem 4

Whenever you want. But if you do it during the main story you might outlevel the content you're on. Handsome Jack DLC stuff ALWAYS scales with player though.

it's a great DLC, i did it on my first playthrough (current) once it was available, so before athena, and no regrets. I was overleveled for Athena but doesn't seem so by Edith 6 anymore. There are some great drops in the DLC but from what I understand I'll still be able to farm those in THVM, etc once I hit max level anyway. So, it doesn't seem to matter, it was a nice diversion and I enjoyed it.

There are indeed some great weapons/gear that can help with your 2nd & up play throughs. I’d suggest going there after you complete the first vault. You can grab loads of cash but more importantly lots of Eridium. Use the cash to upgrade bank/backpack & use “E” in Crazy Earls vending machine.

Once you can activate mayhem mode, all areas scale to your level so you can go back and refarm for on level gear. You just can’t get quest rewards, however once you’re level capped, switch to TVHM, get to Sanctuary III & you can go through it at max level even with Mayhem mode for better/more anointed gear

Well... I'm not a Battle Royale player, so I will probably only replay it on a higher setting once - just like I did with the previous games.

I just started it at level 49 with Mayhem 1 activated, and it can be quite challenging at times (I haven't farmed at all yet - just beat a battle with 5 really tough guys with shields/armor/health). Might try it earlier on another character.

If you are dying to buy more SDUs for inventory/ammo, the casino does seem to have a lot of money items, but at 50ish I'm getting anywhere from 2-8k a pop.

won't be much earlier on, scaling. and considering how quick you'll need 2mil to max SDUs, it's better to focus on that stuff end-game, get up to like 81k until then IMO

Shields AND armor? So, you would need an alt acid/shock weapon. From my experience so far, those are rare. More often, you get one or the other plus burn.

Yea, triple bar guys, shield/armor/health...and they are the bullet sponge guys on top of that... thank god my pet can revive me, because I went down three times in that battle alone.
