Starting this tonight -- what's a good/strong character/build for solo leveling?
I've read some stuff on reddit about Fl4k being strong, same for Amara. While I would love to play Amara in theory, I didn't exactly enjoy Lilith or Maya...though that is possibly because I played them wrong. Their action skills didn't really feel strong or really worth it...so I'm almost certain I was playing them wrong. :lunar2019crylaughingpig:

Also interested in Fl4k because, even though it isn't necessarily the same, I did enjoy playing as Axton and Gaige with a focus on turrets/Gaige's pet mech so this feels like it might be similar. What would work well in the opinions of ye seasoned players? Some thoughts on which character and a build or two would be much appreciated! :)

Just play Moze and go for the Blue Tree which focuses on Explosive and Iron Bear. The Rocket and Nade equipment wrecks everything until you unlock the Mini Nuke. Also she has an ability to let Iron Bear stay on the Field for 15 Seconds and you can man the Gun Turret on it.
There are some cases Iron Bear gets Bugged and stayed on the Field for more then 15 Second which helps to stay on the gun Turret longer. You can even pilot Iron Bear longer as long as you keep killing.

Go the Orange Build if you want to focuses more on Moze Damage and Shield but the earn that Tree can drop your HP quick since you can't exactly regain HP due to one passive skill in that Tree if you invest in it but the Damage she Deals and the Shield counter Balance it. Oh and the Rail Gun absolutely murders everything. Not gonna go with the Fist loadout.

Haven't check the Green Tree though the Mini Gun looks fun.

yeah.. Lilith`s action skill was arguably the best from both BL1 and BL2. maya is a different story.

I`m currently in the middle of my first solo playthrough so i haven`t seen it all yet, but i`m starting to skip Moze`s action skill because it is borderline cheating. Any encountered boss drops dead in seconds.
Moze is really that good? Did they fix her since the release on the EGS? I remember a lot of people didn't really like her because the cooldown on her action skill seemed to be super long.

Precisely what I've heard time and time again which has me convinced I was just playing her wrong. It was a good "oh ♥♥♥♥ get out of jail free card" for me, but it seemed like any time I tried using it offensively, I'd just get rekt shortly thereafter. v_v

I started with The Beast Master when it was only on Epic Games. In every shooting game, I like being a sniper, so stealth came in handy. I do wish the stealth last longer than like 3 seconds.

Play Zane. Go SNTL & Shield very strong at end game.

Amara's fun with the health regen she gets and the close up damage buffs. The action ability from that tree does hit multiple enemies early on. Phaselock build for her is really only good for taking out elites with no resistance. I tried her phaselock tree first then switched to her close up regen tree and it was much better.

I also tried moze and can't really say she was amazing but I only went like 10 levels with her. Sure didn't feel as great as Amara did when I made the switch.

They're all strong, just a matter of personal taste ... experienced players have enjoyed soloing all four to six toons totally 22 toons from all four games BL1 + BL2 + TPS thru to BL3 and strongly recommend it as optimal for those who enjoy the BL series. Have fun :steamhappy:

That's because people ignore the Blue Skill Tree in which there is a Skill that makes the cooldown shorter though through Kills.

I am playing Amara with a sniper (Jakob`s Monocle) build (Blue Skilltree) and using the Cutsman (SMG) for extra elemental damage.
Often I kill the anointed (wrong spelled?) mobs and did not notice.
Carrier (Assault rifle) and ION Cannon (Rocket launcher) is always good to have.
Thats all i am using.
Fun build :)
Well, I guess I have time to decide. A friend mentioned earlier that its recommended to play Tales from the Borderlands first. While I enjoy the lore and universe these games are set in, I'm a bit over the "Telltale style", as it is, which is part of the reason I have yet to play Life is Strange 2 despite loving the first two games.

Zane was arguably the worst or "weakest" class at launch and after buffs is one of the strongest endgame. With that being said, all classes endgame destroy content if played correctly.
I just hit 53 yesterday, and today reached level 4 mayhem on Zane. Cyro damage is fun and very strong. paired with movement buffs which give MORE ap and making that TVHM playthrough much faster.

IMO Zane is played best as a hybrid. all 3 trees have great abilities. My spec is 18(red) 11(green) 22(blue)

Green tree for skill CD reduction / cyro dmg on crits, +bubble shield amp dmg.

Red tree for base Attack Power on skill use, health regen kill skill, + fractal frags so my grenades arent useless. going digi clone allows you to take much less dmg and dish more DPS on higher difficulties.

Blue tree for base Attack power per % movment speed. (faster you move, more dmg you do) kill skill life steal, kill skill movement speed, flat increase to kill skill bonuses, an additional kill skill that gives anything you shoot a chance shoot an additional round for the next 5 shots. and yet another kill skill that extends the duration of current action skills.

TLDR: ZANE
Run around alternating Action skills. each action skill = 20% AP
Actions skills always up, no cooldowns.
Bubble shield + digi clone taunt / soul link = insane survivability.
Zane is a killing machine, the more you kill the stronger you become, shred through the opposition until nothing remains.

As for leveling, The game at base difficulty is pretty easy, anything you do will kill just fine. personally i went red tree zane, and found a grenade mod that forces enemies to drop a butt ton of cash, and had my digi clone / STNL spam nades and i made millions as my action skills blew up the battle field.

Finished Zane TUVH with maxed out sentinel n going for hunter only levels. Zane is so FAST. Add that with ability recharge rate he can continue stacking a lot of DPS.

amara's spirit driver build is most op build for now.
u can do easily solo even takedown's boss in m4.
insane move speed will help when doing quest.

Amara, she has several really strong end game builds. I can't speak for the others I've only played with Amara.

I've capped Moze and Fl4k solo. I'd say end game Moze is more difficult, when I went through the game with Fl4k it was so much easier. Farming end bosses on M4 for oranges with that toon has a quick turn around so its easy to build your inventory.

Just started Zane and I'm not digging it too much but its hard to tell this early. With the comments about Amara I might jump ship and give her a go.
