ending felt like i have been trolled - spoiler
story is super bad in this. death of maya: pointless and random. death of litlith: overdue but pointless and surplus. who cares about pandora? what the ♥♥♥♥ was that outro music? this girl is on fire? that was so cringy, bad and anti climatic.. i was not able to endure.

it felt a bit liek that burn after reading movie - where the point is that there is absolutely no point and everything was just made so you get that effect but without the effect.

there is still no point with the vaults. they said there is countless of them - yet those we know are connected and trap the destroyer and there is nothing in them just like 8 random guns but appereantly the whole universe is crazy about them yet you can't do anything with it. oh and that gun that shoots guns. yeah funny.

the side missions however ofter were much better than in all other previous games. so there is that.

I finished the game today and I really liked how it ended. Hoping for her to come back as a DLC

I agree. The whole story felt off, Vaughn killed it for me early. A lot of the characters dialog is cringe af but the gameplay loop is pretty good and kind of makes up for it.

The song at the end was more cringey for me than the entirety of Vaughn dialog.

When do people finally realize that this game was meant to be cringy? I mean seriously even the trailer talks about some kid doing a stream and seeking for followers naming herself "The God-Queen"... how could you not expect something cringy?

And Vaughn gets better when you know the background story from Tales from the Borderlands + the Commander Lilith DLC in BL2

i know borderlands since the beginning and also tales from the borderlands and it was awesome. it was not menat to be cringy my man. look at the very opening of the first borderlands game ever. look at every opening of borderlands games ever. watch the intro scenes for every chapter of tftb. the death of loader bot was more meaningful than the whole story of b3. tannis is a siren now. that's that. borderland is meant to be wicked and cool.

we went from this:

wtf man. this kind of also relates how storytelling progressed in between.

i actually waited a bit so they can 'reveal the joke' but it was the joke apperently :/

i think story is bad because there basically is none.

the only thing happening is lilith and maya deaded and tannis is a siren.

the whole game felt like they introduced the first vault hunter.. only to make that irrelevant because he killed himself.

some references to old games were cool but yeah. guess the re-do of tales from the borderlands will make a nice dlc happen.

Agree... i mean 15 year old girls from 80s will love it. I used to like Lion king etc. sad stories too as a child but even children nowdays dont like this sad hero stuff.

BL should have Badass gameplay, Badass guns with Badass characters and Badass story.

Again you missed the point...
I did not mean that "Borderlands" was meant to be cringy. I meant that this very part of the series was meant to. Borderlands from its beginning kept a dark humor and a whole buttload of sarcasm and satire. Borderlands 1 was combining this trend of RPGs coming up in these years with the sick desire of special loot and so on and so forth.

The next part of the series (not chronologically) put the desire for being this freaking badass saviour of the planet thing into spotlight with this whole poor vs. rich thing into play. Hence the city of Opportunity which is like 90% made out of glass and diamonds and Handsome Jacks pet horse made entirely out of diamonds and with his "I am the best because I am rich"-attitude

Then we had Pre-Sequel. I did not really play it myself since I've been told it was complete garbage but bet my left eye-ball it had a satire focus that was completely different from the previous ones, or was it?

And now we have the YouTube / Twitch and Instagram trendings with every little 12yo with a smartphone dreaming of overtaking the planet by simply doing some trashy streams with some unfunny self-awareness and self-reflection which in most cases is no where near the truth.
Also we have those crypto-trends having ups and downs which are also referred in this game.. I mean there is a weapon specifically for this purpose. Plus we have those unfinished early-acces crap games with microtransactions on their roll which are also used as a hook-up in this game.

So apparently yes this game was meant to be cringy. You just totally missed the trending spirits. Probably because this one is a little more appart while the other were at least close to eachother

besides that i strongly disagree with your assumptions. give me one example for a trailer or w/e that is themed around cringe. your conclusion is further from home than spider man ever will be.

I agree with you OP about everything except one. Though the side quests in this game are better than the main story, they are not better than BL2's side quests.
