Sidequests are better than the main story.
So far I've done every side quest up to Athenis, and they've all been more Borderlands 2 than Borderlands 3.

They have that flair BL3 doesn't have whilst still using the BL3 humor. Any opinions?

It's how it's always been, with sides being better than the main

Personally not for me, Bordelrands 2 main plot was way better than the sidequests, except the tiny tina dlc, that ♥♥♥♥ was just great. Borderlands 1's main was also better imo, but borderlands 3 seems to juts lack the flavor of the main quest like the side quests do, for me at least.

I wouldn't say that borderlands 1 and 2 side quests were better than the story, but they also were not worse.

Pre-sequel definitely had a good reason for the plot, but they still told a bad story and yeah the side quests and echos were better than the main story.

For what I have seen from borderlands 3, the main story and the actions that the main characters do because of the writing all suck. The side quests shine so bright next to them because the main story and the complete lack of player interaction makes the main very boring.

Yeah I can see that. pre-sequel was okay, but it started to shine more so near the ending for me.

For me BL3 doesnt really suck, it's just not fun and poorly written. They could of made it 10/10 better if the villain felt more villainous and if they spent more time treating you like a vet bl player rather than some random that knows nothing about anything.

One of many things just bother me when I ever think about it in the most simplest way. If you took out the part where the villains are streamers, nothing changes in the main story. They are a cult with a big following. Take it out of the side quests and nothing makes sense. Why use the cult members to fight over who is the better sibling? Why make deals that gives other corporations land?

I have a theory that the main story was changed late in development. The side quests and dlc are more relevant to what’s going on in the modern day. I’ve just done a side quest on borderlands 3 where Malawian is making a deal with the COV. He asks the siblings “why are they a following rather then a corporation? They would get a lot more from that.” The brother replies with “we have followers willing to die for our cause and we don’t even need to hide a thing. You tell me who made the better deal here?” This is the kind of stuff that comes up on the side quest. How they got their loyal fans, the conflicts that happen in the COV and does a lot of stuff that is more relatable to the modern social media environment, while the main story doesn’t. It just says streamers are bad without any detail or reason. The only thing I can think of is how if they did implement the story how I think they originally planned, it would make gearbox’s CEO look worse then he already does, so it was changed. But this is only a theory.

I mean the story sucks, the gameplay is awesome though

One of the major improvement was Malliwan guns with dual-effects. That is really cool. I tend to keep them only because they're Malliwan.
Those who made the BL3 main story have broken............the pact.

They cut a lot out of the game to ship it on time.

Scooter's son was suppose to be in the game.

So was Krieg part of the main story him and Maya have voice lines interacting they removed from the game.

I am sure they will recycle and use some of this in the 4th DLC.

Point is they did cut a lot from the game.

It's also very awkward how Moxxie and Marcus set up shop across from each other in Sanctuary - they were both married once by BL lore and never interact once in B3...

A lot of lore ignores/dropped or is not expanded on from previous games.

fully Agree. loved BL1 and BL2. One with Dark Humor, the other one totally over the top. But BL3 is like the Down Syndrome kid. Its just cringe, and for some reason they had to shovel everything SJW in they could find. We have Gays, Female Empowerment and sometimes Foreigner Jokes, but all of them are just very bland, without any Context or Story behind it, nothing Funny. I am really Dissapointed by BL3 tbh. The only good thing is the Gameplay which drasticly improved compared to the previous Games. Even tho i miss very Cool Characters like in BL1 and BL2. Somehow the Chars in BL3 all together suck, except for FLAK and his Pet, they are a neat idea, but very bare Bones..
I wish, Mozes Mech would stay way longer on the Battlefield for more Mayhem and also be Autonoumus by default.
The siren in this Game just plain sucks. boring Skills, and the Character itself is just annoying as heck.
and the Agent dude also got some nice skills which are Interesting, but overall i thought that he is boring too.
I really miss Axton with his Ridiclious Turrets that can be placed everywhere, or Teleport, or trigger a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Atomic Bomb, or you could place multiple ones, with Rockets.. and Machine Guns.
While in BL3 i can choose which weapon i give the Monkey.. or Mech.. its just.. eh... nothing special or exciting.. just like the Main Story ..really bland.
I was about to say that BL2 may be a too good Game to be improved very much.. but.. that would be a Lie.. BL2 had many Problems and weaknesses.. but the Story made you forget about these things quite fast. But BL3 on the other Hand.. oof.. not so much. The Shooting is the only thing that keeps me engaged, but i always have to fight launching BL3, because nothing else makes fun in this Game, and there are Shooter out there that are way better.. for example Doom2016, which BL3 just copied its Gun Play, which is good.. but not as good as Doom.. atleast its better than Doom Eternals Gameplay.

I have a theory that...

Your theory is wrong.

CoV = MAGA etc

The twins are NOT representing mere streamers. They represent certain social media obsessed demagogues using hate, greed and religion to solidify power.

Why did trump give land to his rival putin? Because they both lack morals and they both profited from it. Why do corporations posture in complete agreement with them? Because there is a tremendous amount of stolen wealth and kickbacks to toss around.

The game is pretty explicit about who the CoV represent. I kinda wonder how much wishful thinking goes into this misunderstanding is or if the maghats playing this game are truly that stupid.
