Best Moze builds after the buffs?
A lot of the guides that come up on a search are before the changes that were made to Moze.

I gave all 3 weapons a try and I'm liking the railgun + rocket pods combo.

I'm currently at level 20. I'm mostly putting points into the blue and red trees so far, seems like the red tree is basically required if you actually want to live.

is there anything in particular that is a must have/avoid? Is there a generally recommended build?

I've been running a Bottomless Mag & Shield of Retribution build based on blgy build: https://forums.gearboxsoftware.com/t/updated-11-29-incendiary-critical-moze-skill-based-mostly-uses-quest-reward-guns-tvhm-mayhem4/4066103

Currently it looks like that: https://bl3skills.com/gunner/#501310150100003500000000000155321103500
Loosing Specialist Bear, Full Can of Whoop-Ass and either Rushin' Offensive or one point in Scorching RPM's to grab Auto Bear may not be a bad idea as a lot of anointed effects require Auto Bear to be active.

As for gear the LOV3M4CH1N3 and the Transformer are quest rewards and easy to get. The Deathless can be farmed as soon as you reach the Splinterlands on Pandora. The Bloodletter is the only thing that is hard to come as you'll need to farm a proving ground for that one. A class mod with at least 1 point in Thin Red Line isn't bad at all as a replacement. At the same time the proving grounds are fairly generous and you'll probably had dozen of legendaries by the time you get that class mod.
So far things are fine on Mayhem 3. I'm not so sure that Mayhem 4 is worth it as it turns enemies into bullet sink without some specific gear.

There are some pretty useless skills mostly in the red tree:
Behind the Iron Curtain: With the Bloodletter, most of your regen come from health vials. That one is pretty much wasted with the class mod. Probably not that useless without it but not that important either.
Force Feedback: You can't regen your shield while under fire and the regen is slow as hell (but once again vials do fill it pretty quickly). Having it start to recharge for half a second isn't worth it.
Tenacious Defense: Your goal is to have 1HP and anything that destroy your shield will kill you before the skill can trigger.

Anything in the blue tree that is splash related is obviously wasted if your current weapon doesn't deal splash damage.
