What does the quest symbol in fast travel indicate?

Hi,

sorry if this has been asked before but a quick google search did not reveal anything.

When I go to fast travel and zoom out all the way, the quest marker appears next to some regions (see screenshot [imgur.com]), but when you actually zoom in on the area, there is no quest marker to be seen anywhere.



What does this mean? Are these indicating that some hidden quests in this area are still unsolved?

It means you have unfinished side missions, they pop up as you make progress on the storyline, be sure to complete them, this is important on normal mode so ya don't fall too far behind enemy difficulty level

hmm k. so they will appear later or do I have to randomly search for the quest giver in the areas that are marked with the quest symbol?

It is a bug imo.

I've done all missions in an area, which is verifiable by hitting R to see mission count, yet I still see these all the time in different areas. I asked about this also, and got the same reply that there are missions there... but there are not.

It's this. A short time after release they had a patch which "reworked" the drop pods on several planets. Moving them a bit, changing the models on some. Ever since then the drop pod locations always show up with an ! on the as if they are undiscovered. It's a known issue, or at least had been reported many times. But yet to be addressed.

I also have a character who did 100% of normal mode before that patch and had zero !'s on the map at all, but after that patch, I've had them on every planet for the drop pod locations.

thanks for all the responses guys. I am on my first playthrough and new to the game (have played quite a bit of B1 and B2).

What is the best resource/wiki on the game at the moment? I have watched some youtube videos but they are quite random and full of clickbait and I would love to read some more on mechanics, endgame content and so on.
