About GOTY quick question
Do developers release the GOTY edition right after a year or does it take longer ? actually asking it for BL3 :D

sometimes yes, it takes longer. as for bl3, I don't think bl3 has gotten any goty award, so them naming their full edition "goty" would be funny. they might stick with their current editions at the end, presequel did the same I believe.
also we know that they will release their 3rd paid campaign at summer. it is likely that they will releasing the 4th one during christmas or even before that who knows.

Usually to my knowledge GOTY is a title given by someone,it's not the devs that decide their game is a game of the year just because they decided so hahah.
(maybe im wrong, but for me that make sense)
BL 1 was slightly less than a year and BL 2 was slightly more than a year. If what post #1 says is accurate then best case is christmas but most likely next year.

Worth noting: GOTY is a bit of a iffy title. There isn't any single identity that is considered the "authority" on this (at least a half dozen or so different things give a game of the year award -- Steam is one such group).

When looking at games, "GOTY Edition" has become a common name for a package that contains all DLC (or at least most of the "main" dlc) for the game, regardless of whether or not it won a GOTY from any group. With that in mind, it is unlikely we will see such a package until all 4 planned story DLC have been released.

Animeye is right most of us just mean all the content together when we say GOTY. You make such constructive and informative posts, I like it even though most won't read the wall of text.
