Heh. I remember playing against King Graham, Roger Wilco, Sonny Bonds, etc.

Unfortunately, neither Steam nor GOG has added any of the old Hoyle games. I wish they would.
Woah, I didn't know any of the older games had Roger Wilco in them! I must have played the wrong editions.

I used to always play with Roger Wilco, Bulldog and I think "The Kid" (Was some sorta snobby looking one I loved turning into the old maid)

But yea old versions had the Sierra characters in it due to them publishing them. Guess I am dating myself some...

I had the first or second version of Board Games so I'm probably even more dated haha.

When we acquired Hoyle, we pretty much started distributing 2004 versions and up and then some changes to the box were made as Encore instead of Sierra on the box. Old inventory sold out and the boxes silkscreened with our company name eventually filled the stores. I would imagine due to licensing issues we could not use the assets that were in the older version. We even tried a 3D rendition of Hoyle Casino called Hoyle Casino 3D and then with the 2009 version of to 2011 it went 3D with Card and Casino. The board games remained the same. And then we switched to an improved 2D version with 2012 and 2013. This version represents a whole new design thats clean and has more room to do things and is native to the screen size you play on. And we can improve on it too with everyones feedback as we seek to make the best version of Hoyle that's out there.

Every time I played Hoyle I would always choose Harley as my preferred partner when playing the different 2 player games in the collection. Just for kicks, here is a some sound clips from this character :) And yes, no more Harley. I could submit an idea for a similar character though :)

I guess with your display name, I should have figured that :B1:

Harley was always my favorite, too, so I can say without a doubt that you've got good taste. You might appreciate this avatar gif I made to use in a few places: http://i.imgur.com/yT8WJee.gif

If you gave me a Gax like character (Robin Williams like Alien maybe... Spark from Ark? lol), Maybe an equally crazy Maurice style puppeteer.. (Think Australian mate with a Kangaroo puppet.. lol!) and for fun maybe to go along with your Harley.. Give us an old Bulldog again. =D Having something touching on the originals and I would probably buy this version. =)

Until then however.. Ill just keep loading up the orig version and versions with these guys. It was just great playing wacky rounds with these guys.
