can't fly with mouse?
Am I missing how you set the mouse as the main control method?
Using wasd is not how I would ever choose to play a flight sim.

All the controls for this game are a mess I am afraid to say. Very frustrating!

Does the game support an X360 controller? Or a standard joystick?

I couldnt get the Xbox360 controller to work. Though I dont know if thats just me.

I'm flying with a standard XBOX360 controller with no problems.

Yup, I just got my X360 controller working with it too, no problems at all. It's a wired controller by the way.

I've changed my controls a lot, so what I recommend doing is if you use a controller, have all the keys not flight related on the keyboard

I used a PS3 remote just connect it via Bluetooth or (if your PlayStation is plugged in) connect it via usb 3.0

I fail to understand how a game with mappable controls can have bad controls. Controls work fine for me. Mapped things to my stick and throttle just fine too. Did not do that til after I had played for an hour with keyboard so I got some experience without them too. If you like flying games, spend 10-30 bucks and get a joystick. And 360 controller works pretty good too.

We have definitely been taking some flak for the controls... There is of course, always room to improve and we take our player's feedback very seriously. Please let us know specifically what we can do better and we will see what we can do. The topic of mouse control has came up more than once and, I must admit, I am a little confused. How specifically are people expecting this to work? Contrary to some reviews, this is not 100% arcade style flight.. the plane isn't necessary going to go in the direction you point with the mouse. The mouse would be affecting controls surfaces on the plane, thus affecting the flight of the plane. We do have the option to show on screen flight sticks for controlling pitch/roll/yaw, which is essentially mouse control. These are primarily intended for mobile users, but can be used on PC as well. Please let us know what we can do better, we are always interested in hearing from our players. Thanks!

EDIT: Philip has informed me that I need to play more flight sims. :-) We will put this on the list of things to consider.

The only experience I have with mouse controls in flight sims is that they make a player way more accurate than they should be. It's practically cheating. War Thunder players who use mouse controls absolutely dominate those who wish to actually use skill to accomplish their goals. Please do not give in to this mouse control non sense with a flight sim.

I'd like the Mouse control like the one in Warthunder as a option, its very very precise and very usefull.
The plane flies to the direction where you point your mouse, which helps players without joystic/Controllers to make better adjustments without tapping the buttons so much.

Yeah, I would love to be able control planes as in Warthunder, the lack of mouse controls is actually one of the few things stopping me from putting more time into this game.

Though they do make the player much more accurate than they could normally be, this is for the best. As it stands currently, I struggle to shoot even one drone or tank in the gun and rocket training modules. With mouse controls, as many have pointed out war thunder, players may be able to have an even ground against the CPU controlled Vehicles. As there is currently no multiplayer to speak of, an advantage over other players would not make any difference to those using flight sticks and gamepads.
Hope my input helped a bit.

yes, please add mouse control. It will improve the gameplay tremendously. I'm tired of tapping the WASD keys so I can get the plane to go in a specific direction. The full throws of the control surfaces using the keys do not help.

As rightly you should; And for more than just the controls! What you have here is a mobile-quality game being flogged to the P.C crowd. I'm disappointed you havn't thought that you need to deepen and expand the premise any, though given your reply above I believe it's not out of malice or lazinessness; Just ignorance of P.C. expectations. So, no hate.

But.

The throttle needs to be proportionally mapped to stick input! (not this up to go faster, down to go slower, mobile-esque control scheme thing.)

(Also the editor could use a lot of features and have many changed as well... Wheels need to have an adjustable strut height and all parts could use context-sensitive right-click menus. Copy, paste... In general the editor needs streamlining. Also seriously more parts and shapes, especially to join blocks of different shapes on corners)
