Line Rider 2: Unbound

Line Rider 2: Unbound

Please Help
I recently bought this game from steam. When I went to install it steam gave me a message box saying that in order to install it I had to link the purchase with my line rider 2 unbound account. So I clicked the link to login to my existing account or create a new one. The link opens up in internet explorer and windows security pops up saying I need to supply credientials. I type my username and password - I've tried both a standard user and an admin account - and it prompts me to enter it again... then a third time. After the third time it tells me that I am not authorized to view the webpage. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Click cancel in the authorization box, then change the url from http://linerider.com/something to http://www.linerider.com/something and press enter - it'll work then. On a side note - you don't need to register there to play the game. It's only for web content, which there isn't a lot of.
Thank you for your reply - I appreciate it. I finally decided to click the finish box, and then resumed downloading the game - clicked play and it worked. If it ever happens again though for any other games I'll remember to cancel and change the URL.

^ tried this, and it still gives me a prompt to enter a username and password, I have difficulty understanding why it's imperative to link an account when I will be playing offline and i don't intend to post scores on leaderboards or anything. strange...
I thought the same thing.... A while back I tried this game on a disc... without an internet connection. The game would not work unless you had an internet connection, even if you were playing offline, it still wanted you to sign in. Did you try both ways... the way I did it and the way on the first reply?

the company that handled the registration keys no longer supports the game; but if you explain the issue very carefully via email to inexile entertainment they might give you a copy that works. (im not trolling. they actually gave me a free working copy with a slightly different name when i asked)
