It's by a robotics dev (Hephaestus Robotics) and comments there indicate they've done some work with invidual developers.
Maybe worth looking into if ROCKFish doesn't want to have to concoct a solution from scratch.
Just a few more popular should do, not every joystick/HOTAS on the planet. So best buy of Saitek, Thrustmaster, Logitech.
Or Thrustmaster Hotas T-Flight X. I'ts a budget controller and my friend is using it for Starpoint Gemini 2, Elite and Star Citizen Alpha, I tried it too and it works well. And I don't doubt it would work fantastic in Everspace first person mode.
Was just going to say it would be nice to have joystick support for the people who would like to use a joystick or attempt to use one even if it's better with m/k currently. I would like to try a joystick for this game, and if its bad i'd go back to m/k or controller.
For the people that keep insisting that this isn't a space sim and joysticks are not logical; for you yes, but not for everyone is all. I hope this is something that the developers will implement sooner than later.
I use xpadder software, to emulate mouse with my Logitech Extreme 3D, set centered crosshair for mouse control in game. Well... it worked. And, well, you can play with it.
But there are some troubles.
1. Controls is not very accurate sometimes. Xpadder problem, i suppose, with some strange curve for XY axis.
2. Can not implement smooth roll, only keyboard simulation. Can live with it, though.
3. Biggest problem: the game itself created for keyboard&mouse controls! It looks nearly impossible to have a target in gunsight. (And i was good enouth in elite, wing commander and tie fighter in my old days...) I'm personaly sorry for all xbox controller users in game. Is there some difference in gameplay for them? Should check with it.
With all of this, not sure if i will play wth joystic or return to mouse control, but such possibility is good itself.
