Colonial warships help needed

Heya all,
I'm looking to see if anyone knows how to really get the C.W's to spawn more often as i've hit a point in the game where i can reliably progress through hard mode in any ship (except the scout, i'll tackle it as soon as i upgraded it fully), and quite often make it to sector 7.

But sometimes, i want a challenge.
And when the Okkar homeworlds wormholes aren't available, i have to wait for the "/!\ Okkar Inbound /!\" alert, and fight my way through the fighters, drones, interceptors and corvettes that appear.

Supposedly the C.W's arrive a bit after you finish all the Okkar forces, and no more appear, but i hung around in the same map for a while and no C.W's appeared...

Any help/info on how to get them to spawn would be greatly appreciated.

(TL;DR: I'm interested in knowing more about Colonial warships, so i can fight them for a bigger challenge in hard mode playthroughs.)

Have you finished the main story? I think the Colonial Warship stops spawning after you finish it. Also, I believe Colonial Warship that spawns in with the Okkar is actually completely unkillable.

Yeah i already finished the main storyline.
And if they don't spawn anymore.. oh well, thanks for the heads up.

Ah, so that's why they don't seem to show up anymore...Anyways. The warships that spawn in, you can destroy all the turrets on them, but they tend to either drop nothing, or a single unit of a common resource, like fuel. Even once you destroy every turret and okkar, the ships can't be destroyed in their entirety.

Surely if youre done with the game and jus looking for a challenge shouldnt you try the game without upgrading your ships? Im sure that would make it more difficult. Im not sure about hard mode as I havnt played it yet but I know normal and all ships in that mode are real easy even the big ones with the right weapons. I imagine its just more hit points on hard?

Well if you are looking for a challenge go play Hardcore, and you will get it in ample amounts, and as there are no story mode there, the colonial warships will continue to always spawn there with the okkar fleet
