Encounters worth it?

Buying the base game, just wanted thoughts on the DLC

Absolutely. A new ship, new cosmetics, new friends, new enemies, new weapons, new devices, and plenty of side-quests to do as you work your way across the sectors. It adds a fair bit of content to the game.

it makes the game much more alive with the addition of freindly, talking npcs who you run into every now and then, do tasks for them, get rewards or help from them. absolutely worth the price, adds so much extra things to do in a run on top of the normal gameplay loop.

I bought the base game a couple of days ago to see if I liked it, and just grabbed Encounters too. The base game is awesome, but ignoring the steady dogfights and DEATH, it's a bit quiet lol, so looking forward to seeing all the extra stuffs and the (much needed) credits that come with it. :o game is Hcore

Yes you do. I dont think the new stuff is added until you start your next attempt, though.

To be honest, I wouldn´t play the game WITHOUT the dlc simply because the dlc brings you missions making the game much more enjoyable. They give you an alternate goal and rewards besides just "go to the last sector without getting killed". I have played almost 30 hours because this game is so addicting. I only payed about 11 Euro (maybe around 12 Dollars) for the bundle in sale.

It adds a fair amount of flavour beyond the main campaign narrative, definitely worth it.
