Were is the save file located?
I just opened the game, only played 9 hours, and it says new game. Lol oddly earlieri n another post i'd quored the developer and asked where it was to back up as i'll be playing this for a long time (Also are they prior fishlabs/or fishlabs employees? this is very much like an awesome rougelike galaxy on fire 2)

Anyway just curious. I don't mind starting over just wtf. It's not been my week of good luck tbh. Weird crap has been going on ha.

Oh oh, sorry for that. I hope your backup save file is still good.
You'll find the save files here:

C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\RSG\Saved\SaveGames

The team that built Everspace is entirely from Fishlabs. The originals, in fact, that created GoF1 and 2, plus the expansions. After that, Fishlabs was expanded considerably and brought on a lot of individuals to expand how the game was approached (including in-game microtransactions), and the originals split off to create Rockfish because we don't like that model.

I didn't realize that! It certainly explains why this game is so darn good, and why GoF 3 flopped so hard.

Cool, thank you!

And yup found the backup. Got it back and running and then deleted it because i'd already decided hey lets start over. Not like I don't see this as i'm going to play it for a long time. Hope new DLC comes out, or something down the line for this titles. LOVE it.

I figured as much seeing the credits, i recall many of the names and Rock Fish (Fish labs) just made me smile when I bought it. I've just recently booted it but i love it so damned much. I have GOF on mobile with all the DLC since the PC doesn't have it (Sad face on that was totally going to buy it but I gotta have that DLC) saw this and it looked similar, after many attempts to find one like it. Man, Rockfish, stay cool, and don't shut down. Just keep makiing stuff, and throw out something like this now and again. You guys are awesome. Also the rougelike formula is perfect for this game. Never knew, after 200 hours in GOF2, beefed up all the ships, and then jumping in this feeling that meditative feeling with the holy crap run moron why did you do that thing. I miss the trade stations but i like the rouge like approach to this much, much better. Don't even care I lost my save. I know ow to play it now lol

So why are these files located in a usually hidden folder? Ever heard about the "documents" folder? Btw where are the config files located? I bet in another hidden location. Really, this is not user-friendly!

Owning 1300+ games there is a very small percentage of games I own where save files are located inthose areas. Most app/roaming, or like this, or in others. It's justu p to the devs!

I can find the top folder, but no such folder named "app data" underneath my user folder. I am switching computers soon and want to take my saves with me, what am I missing? I should say that I own this game through GOG, not steam, so there is no cloud I can definately count on.

Just in case make sure you can see hidden folders (I recall that on my previous PC app data folder was hidden).

hope that helps
