Tractor Beams are dangerous
So last night I decided to take the Gunship out for a spin to see what it was all about. Considering how bulky it is and how loot got a nasty habbit of flying into small nooks and crannies, I thought it would be a good idea to install a MK2 Tractor Beam on it. Boy, was I wrong..

Whenever the tractor beam picked something up that I could only use a part of, the item in question would slam into the Gunship and send it flying into walls, astroids, and mines. And with no shield to act as a buffer this lead to serious hull damage in the long run. In a matter of fact it was probably the single most damaging factor from start to end.

Also, sometimes in open space items would bounce of the hull and just keep flying forever without slowing down. Which was very annoying when turning around only to spot those nanites you wanted floating through deep space 300km away.

Moral of the story? Beware of the tractor beam physics when using the Gunship. It can cause some serious damage and totally screw you over when exploring wreck and colonial bases.

Once I've got bounced so hard by item it ended my run by hitting me into a wall at lowish hp.
From my experience and I always have tractor beam it's a non issue. It's utility - saving time and hassle is worth it on any build if you have extra device slot.
imho you are flying way too close to objects for no apparent reason.

The issue is not "flying too close for no apparent reason". Many of the colonial bases, wrecks, and astroid caves have very cramped interiors. Which make it almost impossible to avoid getting slammed into a wall when an item can knock the ship severel hundred meters.

That said I do find it a little odd as to why this issue is so bad with the Gunship. Have used tractor beam multiple times on the Interceptor without ever noticing this behavior, but the moment I installed on the Gunship it became a nightmare.
