Constantly spins to the left in VR mode
Just installed the game today, and in VR mode on my Oculus Rift, the ship constantly yaws left whenever I move the mouse, and then keeps spinning. I'm just using mouse and keyboard, and the game is fine in 2D mode.

If I connect an Xbox controller, moving the left stick stops the spinning, but the constant spinning yawing left resumes again the instant I move the mouse. Any ideas??

Do you have any other input devices plugged in at all? I had a similar problem with Homefront last week.

Thanks for the feedback. I don't have any other USB devices connected except a scanner and my UPS. Maybe it has something to do with my wireless Logitech mouse? But I haven't had any problems with other games.
Could be.

Hi, did you re-bind any of the controls? Could it be some sort of binding conflict? You could also try to increase the deadzone in the options->controls->configure menu

I am having the same problem but the ship is spinning to the right. It looks like the mouse is pinned at the bottom right corner of the screen and cannot be moved from there.

Game works fine outside of vr mode.

I have the same in VR mode. Use windows mixed reality though, and it's constantly spinning regardless of control method (then again WMR isn't officially supported)

Hi, what input devices do you have connected? A few hints:
- make sure that any unnecessary controllers / joysticks are disconnected
- have a look if the "use touchpad to move reticule" option is enabled in the controls options, you might need to toggle this off if you have other devices connected
- this might be an input binding issue like described above. To reset your input bindings, delete your Input.ini and GameUserSettings.ini files at AppData/Local/RSG/Saved/Config/WindowsNoEditor .

(Spinning solved according to above + lowering all sensetivities to 0 in game.)

What works best for me with WMR is "not aiming with VR" and mouse and keyboard.

Howecer, whenever I enter the equipment menu and try to move between different submenus (categories, like "map" etc) then the game becomes unresponsive. It says "LB" and "RB" to move between the sections, but to no avail, its always stuck in the initial section when you open it. So game is still not playable in VR for me with mouse and keyboard due to this, while it works with gamepad (after this happens not even the gamepad makes the game unfreeze though).

Alright, this sounds like a different issue. Does the whole game become unresponsive, i.e. you can't navigate between the items in the first menu either?
May I ask what WMR device you're using and what your hardware specs are?

Yes, whole menu + game becomes unresponsive (but graphics in the background seem to still rotate/move along as the vr headset does). I use HP Windows Mixed Reality Headset VR1000-100nn. My specs are as follows but aren't the problem:

Thanks for the info! We'll have a look into this.

Installed it yesterday - spinning and the "non-responsive" issues are both there.

Spinning can be counteracted by enabling Centering of crosshair in the Control settings, but would love to see how it works in the "default" mode, and will try resetting the bindings.

Now, the "game becomes unresponsive" part seems to be due to the application losing focus. In the headset everything is still rendered fine, but the app is no longer receiving any input because you are essentially clicking on something else on the desktop. I experience that both during the game and in the menu (rarely). Quick Alt-Tab solves the issue, but this does not really help with immersion :) Especially during the dogfight.

I am using Oculus Quest via Oculus Link, starting the game in Oculus VR mode (not Steam VR, have not tried it yet).

I must admit that there is one more game where the mouse does something weird on my box, but it does it only when using Steam Link. It might indicate that there are some "misbehaving" virtual controllers from the Steam Link, so if I solve that - I will write an update here. But it's just a theory.

But if someone can look into the issue with app main window losing focus - that would be great.

Still having this issue. It's like if I launch it with the -mode=ovr -vr options it also fudges up the game in non-vr as the game keeps "loosing focus" and flickering on the screen. Only fix seems to be to delete the whole preferences That fixed it last time.

I know everspace 2 is coming, but having a fixed, workable VR with this one would be terrific.
