Think of it like how you have the aim assist telling you where to shoot. Ever try to hit an enemy that is constantly boosting and flying erratically? That aim assist doesn't help when they're moving all over the place. It works the same when you maneuver similarly against them.
Learn to Box Dodge. Strafe in a circle (left, down, right, up, or vice-versa). This makes it so that their shots are always just where you were a moment ago, and the constant change in direction makes it difficult for them to lead you.
Mastering that dodge allows you to easily avoid 95% of enemy attacks while nearly staying still. You can literally kill a corvette by just floating 600m away and box dodging, and never get hit.
Also, check this thread out for more tips, and watch Giraffasaur's video in it as well: http://steamcommunity.com/app/396750/discussions/0/1485487749770774921/
I'm not clicking that.
Thanks for the tips. I was sort of trying what you mentioned just instinctively from playing traditional FPS games. I guess I just need to find that sweet spot with practice. Thanks.
That dodging can also be used while boosting away so you can warp out even while under fire from a dozen enemies.
Badabump rugrats gone viral.
