And about that "just found out about repair after X hours" thing. That one's on you, too. The first time your health gets low, the game literally pauses and tells you to open up the menu and repair your ship with nanobots, so you're to blame for not being able to read.
And I feel ashamed about players these days that they cannot think for themselfs and needs to get everything explained.
Remember to use consumables. The lowly pulse laser, combined with light missiles, is a fantastically potent combination. Strip the shields and then shove a missile up their tailpipe. Works every time. Use energy injectors if you find yourself running out of power during combat. Upgrade your equipment when possible. I'm personally a huge fan of the fire rate mods, and combined with the weapon booster device you almost reach enuff dakka levels of dakka.
Don't piss off the neutral guys and you can use them for help. Get attacked? Fly towards them, they'll help you out. The distress beacon also works wonders, especially for the link drone ships. The link drone ships continually summon buddies to help out, but so can you. It helps even the playing field.
Pick up a tractor beam as early as possible. The mk1 tractor beam is fantastic. It gives you a 0.3km range to suck up all of the loot and resources without draining too much power.
Speaking of power, don't hold down the trigger like a madman. Short controlled bursts is where its at. Your ship will not recharge while firing. Only shoot when you've got a firing solution. Wait and let your power recharge while you line up another shot. Combine this with burst damage devices and consumables and you can hit like a freight train when needed.
I'd like to add that exploration is a key component, as well. Searching through and around asteroids, debris fields and outposts will net a lot of loot, giving your run more opportunities for success from the very beginning. Sensor Drones and Sensor Relays can help put emphasis on finding loot since it increases the range you can add it to the radar.
Oh, and Comm Hubb = GG Area. :D
a. A roguelike / roguelite game where you are expected to die, and you come in thinking what? It's going to be super easy, require no skill, no effort, nothing?
b. As was pointed out, the game has popups explaining almost everything, if you are unable to read those, then you should be exploring the menus, because for everyone that can read, we don't want a popup tip showing the same tip 30 times
c. What? upgrades make a huge difference, and lots of them give large benefits starting a low cost.
kill, loot, explore, loot, upgrade...
d. What difficulty are you playing on..? Even on hard, with little to no upgrades it's entirely possible to make it to sector 5+.
On normal is it entirely possible to beat the entire game with 0 upgrades, 0 perks, 0 enhancements, first run you can literally beat the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game.
So if someone can beat the game with nothing on normal, but you struggle to make it past sector 1 / 2 then it becomes pretty obvious that player skill, or in this case user error is the issue.
so e. learn about the game, watch a twitch stream for 20 minutes and you will see someone repair their ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ship and go "oh wow, I couldn't read the tooltip but seeing someone do it is one way to learn"
f. randomly dying? no, that is 100% you being bad. There are no random deaths, there are things that can kill you, and reasons why you died. If you died, something killed you. If all you learned from that death was "oh wow, I randomly died" then obviously, roguelikes / roguelites are not for you, where part of the general gameplay loop is playing, learning, dying, learning, (upgrading in roguelites), playing, learning, dying, learning, (upgrading), playing, winning.
If you are unable to learn then again, entirely on you.
g. There are very few large groups of enemies in the first sectors, and as was pointed out, there are a number of ways of dealing with them, such as enlisting the G&B's help against all outlaws, and even against the okkar if you feel like setting that up.
Also just about every single enemy in this game can be outrun, if you boost into 5+ enemies, and then have no boost to run away, that is 100% entirely on you, user error, not game difficulty.
And if you do get into a fight with a large number of enemies, kill them. ONE at a time.
This is most difficult on hard difficulty where the enemies are much more accurate, but is entirely doable on easy and normal with taking no hull damage. Again, some skill required.
h. mobile app level? just wow
And no, i'm not being particularly nice, but when your entire post is just random crap and whining, just can't see how you expect that convince people to help you.
The sensor drone is great, but it does burn through consumables. Curiously it also serves as a decoy. For some reason enemies love to target your drones, even harmless drones.
The ship sensor devices are useful, but the problem is power. I always fly with a shield generator and a tractor beam, and a shield generator with upgrades can eat up a ton of power. A mk3 tractor beam is amazing, but its just too power hungry. Mk1 gives you enough of a radius without using too much power, but beyond that I find that I just don't want to spend that much power. The nice thing about the sensor device is that its passive. Once you build its always active forever.
I've noticed that sensors seem to work in a radius, but it takes time to pick up items in a radius. Fly towards one of the big asteroids or to some debris and just sit still for a few moments, let the sensors do their thing. It'll pick up most objects, but yeah, for those containers way out in the middle of nowhere you really do need the comm tower. Each map seems to have containers sitting out in space away from everything. Good luck finding them without the comm tower though. Even the sensor drone can't pick them up.
To make it easier on resources I've been making due with the starter weapons. The pulse laser or gatling gun with fire rate mk1 mods can do a lot of damage, and the mk1 fire rate mods are cheap. They just need a bit of crystal. These starter weapons with three fire rate mods easily take me to sector 5 before I have solid upgrades that surpass them.
At first I didn't like deaths too, but now fails even amuse me. For example, yesterday I teased one npc, I tried to repeat all his turns while I tail him. He dropped some mines and killed my weak scout. Nice surprise I think. This made me laugh.
Don't worry about fails. The game is not so long to give up in the 2nd sector. Even if you reach the end of a way, you will still have to start anew.
I would say that perks make your ship more hardy. And make the gameplay more comfortable. But (!) your success depends primarily on your skills. Do not expect that hostile npcs are getting stupid and blind. You have to outsmart them with equal level weapons (not all, but most of them).
Sounds like when I first time started on hard-mode. :D Wave after wave, everyone wants to blow up your ship, you don't have time to explore all area because of coming forces, every 2nd or 3rd of them is have a jump suppressor, you are uptight as never before, and then you die because of some your stupid mistake. xD Or you winning run and become happy with yourself and taking a breath. And then you start again for more impressions...
I have no idea what you mean.
Well, I wrote enough, think thats all understandable. But I have feeling that this is vain lol.
Mobile lvl? God someone hasn't gotten to the end...oh wait
Sector 1-2? That's probably he tutorial sectors, no natural hazards, no mk2 or mk3 no bombers no corvette no interceptors no swarm fighters
No webbers no goo no "oh ♥♥♥♥ I'm out of fuel, time to raid the gnb" no "oh ♥♥♥♥ I'm out of fuel but there is nothing left to loot"
No SNIPERS
So if you struggle that much and start crying in the forums about how hard this game is during the tutorial lvl, it's best you stop playing now
Don't feed the trolls. A starving troll is a dead troll.
Yup and obvious troll. Every single one of his posts reads like this one just for different games ofc. It's pretty sad these neckbeards just sit in their moms basement and try to lash out.
don't be too mean... what would you do if you would have no real life friends?
it's not with that attitude that people will like you
and all the negetive comments are long gone
i dont even need to say all i said really
everyone said it before me
but i see the wasted potential so i made a comment
