How do I repair my ship?
I don't know how to repair my ship without reloading my savegame. Is there a way to get to the hangar ingame?

The only way to get back to the hangar is by voiding your run. To do this, you press ESC, select OPTIONS, select GAME, select RESET CURRENT RUN. This will send you back to the hangar without any credits while increasing the run number by 1.

So, no docking to a space station like in Freelancer or Starpoint Gemini?

You repair your ship with Nanobots, which are picked up during your run. If you have any nanobots, hit Tab, click Repair, and then click the button on the right side of the right side of the red bar under the word "Hull".

There can be repair stations found during a run, but they are fairly rare. Nanobots and Nano Injectors will be your main source of repair.

You can slide the "repair meter" in the upper right of the tab screen to scale back the amount of repairs to your hull if you want to conserve nanobots. It's smart to keep a small reserve (5 or so) just in case a component like life support or thrusters gets damaged on your run.

Component-specific repairs are on the same tab screen. They either break and need repairs or are functioning normally, no "somewhat damaged" like the hull can be.

the trade ships will also offer repairs if you get the right skill for them.

The thing is if a game gots me I play it for a few hours a day. Am I supposed to take a break after half and hours or what?

What do you mean?

Well, is there only one way to get to the hangar? I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I don't manage to survive long enough.

You need to upgrade perks as you get $, make sure to spend it before any run as it goes away. Take time and look at what your upgrading.

And remember, all runs are randomly generated, which includes enemies

The only time you return to the hangar is when you die or complete all 7 sectors. If you are in the hangar you are effectively restarting the game. Play on easy and upgrade your ship's defenses $5k at a time.

If you're talking about short play sessions, if you go into your menu and select "save and quit", the next time you return to the game by pressing 'continue' it will resume your run at the last area you warped into. So if you want to take a break or resume the game later, finish whatever area you're on and warp to the next one, then pause the game and exit. You can quit at any time during gameplay, but as far as I know, your progress in the current area is not saved. So if you want to keep all your progress, warp to a new area first before quitting.

Your hangar is a pre-run preparation thing only. You can't return to it once you begin, because you're moving away from the hangar as you progress. The only way you end up going back there is if you're killed, or you manually restart the run. As your goal is to get to the final sector, you can consider the hangar to be Sector 0.
