Play the original or the deluxe version?

Is there any reason why u can select one over the other as opposed to just being able to play the deluxe version? Should I be playing the original first?

If anyone is still wondering, I would say probably because some people enjoy the original graphics more than the changes made to the Deluxe version. Or to just simply give people the choice to see how it originally looked if they had never played it before the changes were made. A better question would be... why not have both? Why make the original version just disappear?

I like the look of the deluxe version, but it is so much lighter in colors and I wonder if it's a bug, because it may make it a lot less scary. In the original, you almost see nothing outside of the player, but in the deluxe version you always see the whole environment.
Is it intentional that it is lighter?

I don't know but I played both and even though the deluxe version has some enhancements, it just doesn't have the same creepy atmosphere as the original version which feels better overall.
